"Let's go, the ride's waiting," Selena calls out.
She has no idea that Dom and I just shared our first kiss. My heart still races as I force a smile and walk in front of him.
We both sit in silence beside each other, the car's engine humming softly as we make our way to the hospital. My mind can't help but replay the kiss, the way his lips felt, the weight of his touch. I can still feel the warmth of his breath, the spark between us, the connection I've been avoiding for so long.
The car comes to a stop, and we all pile out. Dom, as if to steady me, takes my hand, leading me as we follow Selena and Neo toward the entrance.
"Hel, I've been wanting to tell you this for a while," Dom begins shyly, his voice laced with nerves.
I glance at him, feeling a strange flutter in my chest.
Dom glances around the hospital, then back at me, as though he's looking for a moment of certainty.
"I know, now is the right time, but I can't keep it inside anymore."
