Chapter 59 - The Dangerous Presence

The sun cast a warm golden hue across the land. The clouds drifted lazily across the sky, soft and slow.

Keiran, Vikas, and Varek had started training to become much stronger and surpass that certain person that Varek wanted to surpass.

"It's kind of suspicious that Varek hasn't said anything about that certain person he keeps saying to us," Keiran said, crossing his arms.

"We should give him some time; we can't force it; that's all we need right now. Time," Vikas murmured while looking at Varek's training.

While Keiran and Vikas were talking to each other, Varek was training; he kept hitting the training dummy to have much more precision and accuracy in every sword battle. He needs to adapt everything, learn everything, be better than everyone, and surpass everyone, just to get revenge on Cthul.

It was a new day; Vikas and Keiran woke up, hearing repetitive swings of swords; as they moved closer to the window, they could see Varek training again with the dummy. They ran outside the home and called Varek...

"Varek! What are you doing this so early, you should get some rest," Keiran spoke, his voice loud yet concerned.

"I can't !" Varek shouted. "I can't; I need to be better than everyone," Varek whispered to himself.

"If you don't rest, then we will join you in your training," Vikas stated.

"Vikas, I am so tired, I want to sleep," Keiran muttered, scratching the back of his head.

"Then go rest; I won't stop you," Vikas replied, lifting a finger and pointing at the house.

"Fine," Keiran answered.

And

Varek and Vikas started training; they swung their swords at the dummy, a countless times.

It was afternoon, and Vikas went to the black market and bought some ingredients for their food. As he bought, he noticed a black figure standing at the center, amidst the crowd. His presence was strong, unremarkably strong. The Figure's presence was mysterious, and out of what Vikas felt about the figure, one thing that stood out the most about the figure was its dangerous presence. Dangerous presence, a presence where even a mile away, you felt that it could kill you; even looking at it makes you overthink: Will I Die?

As Vikas stood, the figure was slowly fading in Vikas eyes. He couldn't move, he couldn't take a step back, why was that black figure just there looking at him. He thought to himself, is it him that the black figure wants, or is it just a coincidence?

Vikas went home still overthinking the black figure. As he walked towards the house, from a mile away, Keiran and Varek saw Vikas head bowed low, thinking that something happen to Vikas.
