Chapter 54 - 54

@Azu_StopNow: "Streamer, if I can sell that Egg Move Chikorita Egg for a profit, I'll split the earnings with you 50-50!"

Ye Yinchuan saw Azu's message in the chat and was momentarily surprised.

He hadn't expected the bald guy to be so grateful.

"Alright, just make sure to use a legitimate trading platform. And don't blame me if the Egg Move isn't what you expected. I can't guarantee anything, and I don't want to get into trouble."

@Azu_StopNow: "No worries, streamer! I accept the risk!"

"Accept the risk, huh?" Ye Yinchuan chuckled and shook his head, deciding not to dwell on it further.

Instead, he addressed his entire audience:

"For those asking me to identify Pokémon eggs—step back. I'm a Pokémon appraiser, not an egg identifier. Are you all just trying to use me as a stepping stone? If I make a wrong call, who's taking responsibility? From now on, aside from a rare occasion when I'm in the mood, I won't be identifying eggs. If someone tries to force it, I'll cut the connection—or even block them!"

Ye Yinchuan's tone was firm.

The gambling scene for Pokémon eggs was a deep and dangerous pit, with people losing everything over it.

Helping Azu once might set a precedent, drawing in more people wanting their eggs appraised.

Some might even involve much higher stakes.

This posed a serious risk to his streaming career.

First, it could get him tangled in major financial interests.

Second, appraising Pokémon over a screen was already a stretch.

If he started accurately identifying eggs too, it would raise too many eyebrows.

He wasn't sure how dark this world's underbelly was…

But he wasn't keen on getting locked up and dissected for research!

[What if we throw a Master Ball at you, streamer?]

"Then I'm not logging out." Ye Yinchuan laughed.

He randomly accepted a live call request.

[Connection Established!]

A loud, ear-piercing noise blasted through the stream.

Ye Yinchuan winced, covering his ears as he grimaced.

"Is my mic that bad?" The caller, a user named @NoCilantro, questioned with genuine concern.

"You woke up my Snorlax." Ye Yinchuan glanced at his side.

His Snorlax groggily propped itself up, looking toward him in confusion.

Status: [Awoken, Alert]

[My Sprigatito woke up too…]

[Miss, are you in a warzone?]

"Sorry, how about now?" @NoCilantro asked.

[I strongly suspect you didn't adjust anything.]

[Did you even touch the settings?]

Ye Yinchuan's expression was one of restrained frustration, like a viral meme of an exasperated stray cat.

Finally, after some encouragement from the chat, she managed to fix the microphone.

"Really sorry! I don't usually do live calls."

"No problem. What do you need me to appraise, or what's your question?" Ye Yinchuan cut to the chase, sipping water while idly petting Snorlax.

He considered this minor chaos a little break.

"So, streamer, my Poochyena is extremely food-aggressive. I looked online, and people suggested feeding it dragon fruit. But I tried, and it didn't work!"

@NoCilantro didn't show her face, but her voice carried intelligence.

She sounded like someone who had been sharp since childhood.

"Dragon fruit? That's ridiculous." Ye Yinchuan muttered.

The internet's advice was becoming more absurd by the day.

[Streamer, don't you know about 'Dragon Fruit Training' for dogs?]

[Also, the 'Loving Dumpling' method.]

[Food aggression happens because they're too hot—you need to fan them!]

Ye Yinchuan was baffled by the chat's rapid responses.

A quick search clarified things.

A certain influencer named @PangHong's Antics was known for training disobedient Pokémon using extreme methods.

His training facility was nicknamed "Jurassic Park for Pokémon" by internet users.

Because of the humor, it became a widely discussed topic.

For example:

Dragon Fruit: This actually meant poking the Pokémon's mouth until it bled, making it look like it had eaten dragon fruit. Fanning: This referred to literal slaps or using a stick. Loving Dumpling: This was a misheard version of "Loving Kick", meaning a forceful stomp.

Other similar terms included "Blueberry," "Kite Flying," and "CPR."

As he read through the descriptions, Ye Yinchuan's frown deepened.

These training methods were far too brutal.

Shouldn't the Pokémon Protection Bureau be stepping in?

But then he saw a disclaimer:

All Pokémon sent to @PangHong's facility were deemed beyond rehabilitation—dangerous or having attacked humans—and were facing euthanasia.

His methods were the last attempt at taming them.

Thus, while extreme, they were a final chance at giving these Pokémon a second life.

"This…"

Looking at pictures of PangHong with his Pokémon, and the many Pokémon housed at his facility, Ye Yinchuan fell into thought.

People said, seeing is believing.

But even seeing wasn't always the full truth.

He prided himself on thinking critically.

Until he truly understood PangHong's work, he decided to remain neutral.

"If he's really a problem, passionate Pokémon lovers wouldn't let him off the hook. Just the sheer number of reports to the Pokémon Protection Bureau would be enough to bury him."

Ye Yinchuan thought to himself before addressing the caller:

"Forget the dragon fruit theory. NoCilantro, let's see your Poochyena."

"Oh, okay! I was just about to feed it."

She picked up a large bag of Pokémon food, then walked toward the living room.

There, a Poochyena lay in wait, its sharp eyes staring directly into the camera with a hint of menace.

[That thing looks intense—it already has a threatening aura!]

[It's a Dark-type Pokémon. They get more aggressive as they grow.]

[No way, my Poochyena is super gentle!]

Ye Yinchuan examined it closely.

It had a fluffy silver-gray coat, with dark gray—almost black—fur covering its face, neck, belly, legs, and ears.

Its upright ears gave it an alert, energetic appearance.

Its sclera was a dull yellow, while its irises were red with black pupils—matching its red nose.

Most notably, it had prominent lower fangs—one big and one small—giving it a fierce look.

Otherwise, it was quite cute and stylish.

His Appraisal Eye activated, displaying detailed stats.

Ye Yinchuan frowned slightly.

Something seemed off.

"Streamer, just wait—you'll see how food-aggressive my Poochyena is. Last time, it nearly bit me!" NoCilantro said seriously.

Ye Yinchuan's expression grew more intrigued.

"Go ahead and feed it. Also, tell me exactly what happened last time."
