The explosion tore a massive hole in the space station. The deafening boom reverberated like an earthquake. How could you not have noticed it?
March 7th glanced at the perplexed Felicity, her expression growing more puzzled by the second.
"Maybe I was just napping?"
Felicity answered hesitantly.
I wasn't sure how long I had been out, knocked unconscious by Herta, but when I woke up, I found two unfamiliar girls "teasing" the gray-haired girl over there.
"Dan Heng, is the sleep of an Emanator from the Path of Abundance... really that enviable?"
March 7th nudged Dan Heng with her elbow, her voice low as she looked at Felicity.
"Don't get carried away."
Dan Heng paused for a moment, rubbing his forehead in frustration. His gaze softened as he looked back at Felicity, no longer carrying any suspicion or threat: "Can you tell us what happened here?"
The floor around them was barely intact, like it could collapse underfoot any moment. The walls were scratched, and scattered bullets suggested a fierce struggle had taken place.
"Well… how should I put it, I woke up and saw a woman with burgundy hair and a little silver-haired girl?"
Felicity tilted her head, thoughtfully recalling the event before speaking:
"They looked like they were bullying the girl over there, so I fought with them, but I got tricked and let them slip away."
"They got away?"
March 7th's head popped out again. "They managed to escape from the Emanator of the Path of Abundance, unharmed? Dan Heng, could it be that a Lord Ravager is here too?"
"Uncle Yang personally confirmed there is no Lord Ravager nearby."
Dan Heng shot down March 7th's wild assumption with a glance. "Based on Miss Felicity's description, there's only one group that fits this."
"Who?"
Felicity leaned in, her curiosity piqued even more than March 7th's.
"Stellaron Hunter."
Dan Heng's guess hung in the air.
"Hmmm…"
Just as Felicity was about to ask more, the gray-haired girl beside her groaned, finally stirring.
"Ah, I almost forgot, there's someone hurt here."
Felicity's eyes brightened as if she suddenly understood something. She bent down, gently tapping the gray-haired girl's forehead with a touch of curiosity.
"How's she doing?"
March 7th asked right away.
No one knew better than an Emanator of Abundance how to handle a "patient." They were so deeply tied to life itself, they could almost heal by touch.
"She's fine. Her vitality is exceptionally strong… almost too much, actually."
Felicity blinked as she answered honestly.
"By the way, do you know her? She's not from the space station."
"Eh? Really?"
March 7th was startled, her large eyes full of confusion.
"We don't know her either."
Dan Heng replied for both of them.
"Hmmm…"
As the conversation trailed off, the gray-haired girl moaned softly again. Her eyes fluttered open, and the first thing she saw was a slender white arm.
"She's awake."
March 7th immediately stepped to Felicity's side and waved her hand in front of the gray-haired girl.
"Are you alright? Can you hear me? Do you remember your name?"
"I…"
The gray-haired girl placed one hand on her forehead, her other hand pressing against the ground as if she was trying to push herself up. She looked at the two faces in front of her, confused, before shaking her head.
"…I don't remember anything."
"Ah, don't ask that! Let me handle it."
Felicity pushed March 7th aside, confidently patting the gray-haired girl's shoulder before her expression suddenly turned serious.
"You're finally awake. You're definitely one of the best among the new recruits."
"???" x3
"Doesn't that sound too much like the beginning of a game!?"
March 7th rolled her eyes, exasperated, then glanced back at the gray-haired girl. "Can you try to remember? Your name is…"
"My name is Stelle."
"Stelle?" Dan Heng nodded calmly. "I'm Dan Heng. This is March 7th. She's…"
"This is Felicity. Hello, new recruit. Can you hear me?"
"Do we really need to stick to that setup?!"
March 7th complained.
"Anyway, we'll take her to the main control section."
Dan Heng was beginning to feel a headache. With March 7th's recklessness and Felicity's sudden involvement, things were getting chaotic.
They were in the middle of a dangerous battlefield, not a playground.
"In that case, you go ahead and take her to Asta."
Felicity clapped her hands, a sudden thought crossing her mind. She had her own matters to confirm.
While she had gained power through Herta's help, she had yet to test the full extent of her abilities.
She turned to Dan Heng. "By the way, you said you were assigned by Stationmaster Asta to rescue us. Does that mean there are still people who haven't taken refuge? Send me the coordinates, and I'll go check."
"Well, Arlan from the Security Department lost contact nearby. He should be around here."
Dan Heng didn't waste time. Since Asta had specifically mentioned Arlan, he trusted her enough to send the coordinates straight to Felicity, then left with March 7th and Stelle.
Once they were gone, Felicity immediately set off to follow the coordinates.
She knew Arlan—he was a cute boy, a direct subordinate of Asta.
Herta only used him for experiments and left all the day-to-day tasks to Asta, who was responsible for everything from food to housing. So, Felicity had always felt a sense of gratitude towards Asta, making her serious for once.
"Just follow the familiar scent."
Felicity muttered to herself as she raised her head. Her emerald eyes shimmered faintly, and suddenly, the air around her thickened with countless life forces rushing in.
"…In the monitoring room? That's annoying. The shortcut to that place reeks of unpleasant odors."
With a small huff, she waved her hand and summoned a flower nearly her height.
"There's a fluctuation in his life force. Is he hurt? … No matter. As long as he's still alive, he can be saved."
Shaking off stray thoughts, Felicity stepped forward.
As she reached the door, an awful sight met her eyes: a corridor marked with deep scratches and holes, the floor littered with spiderweb-like cracks.
Corpses lay scattered on either side—purple-armored figures she didn't recognize. They were probably part of the antimatter army March 7th had mentioned.
March 7th and Dan Heng must have gone further ahead, clearing the road of enemies, but some still lingered.
Felicity raised her head, a slight smirk playing at her lips.
