Chapter 15 - Unraveling Secrets

As he drove to Blue's house, Thorndike couldn't shake the feeling that she was hiding something from him. His father's sudden interest in her background, the increased security, and her reluctance to introduce him to her family—it all felt too coincidental.

Determined to get answers, he called Blue.

Her phone rang, and she quietly answered.

"Hey, Blue, I'm on my way to you. I need to see you immediately."

Blue hesitated, knowing full well that her father and Jack were watching her closely. "Oh, sorry, I can't see you right now. Can we meet another time?" she asked.

"Sorry, but I can't wait. I have something important to say to you—I need answers."

Blue immediately hung up and ran toward Zara's room.

She knocked.

"Who is it?" Zara asked.

"It's me, Blue."

Zara quickly opened the door. Blue hurried inside, panic in her eyes.

"He's coming here," she blurted out.

"Who?"

"Thorndike," Blue answered breathlessly.

"No, he can't come here. Your father won't take it lightly. You have to call him immediately and stop him," Zara warned.

As Blue reached for her phone to call him back, it started ringing again.

"I just arrived at your house," Thorndike said.

A knock followed.

Zara rushed to answer the door, her eyes widening in surprise.

"Thorndike! What are you doing here?"

"I need to see Blue," he said firmly.

Zara hesitated. "She's… resting."

"Thorndike, you have to leave. This is not a good time. Do you want to get her into trouble?"

He tried to push past her. "I won't stay long."

Zara held him back firmly. "I promise you, I will bring her to you. But you have to go before her mother sees you."

Thorndike's heart pounded, but he stepped back. "If I don't see Blue, I'll come back, and you won't be able to stop me."

With that, he turned and walked toward his car, his heart heavy as he drove away.

Zara quietly locked the door, her heart racing. She slipped back into her room, where Blue was pacing anxiously.

"Is he gone?" Blue asked.

Zara nodded. "But you have to see him before he gets suspicious and furious."

Unbeknownst to them, Jack had been hiding in the shadows, silently observing. He had just uncovered their little secret. And now, he was determined to find out who the young man was.

Jack's Discovery

Elsewhere, in a dimly lit hideout, Jack sat across from Agent Mark, who was now working for Mr. Skinner.

"Do you have any updates for me?" Jack asked.

"Yes. I was asked to dig deep into Blue, so I need information about her. I don't want Mr. Watson to know I'm working with you, so please help me, and I'll help you."

Jack chuckled. "Are you joking with me?" he asked. "Since you like spying on people, figure out who she is yourself."

Mark sighed. "I have some information. Blue visited the Dike mansion. She went with one of Mr. EddieDike's staff—a man with a background as mysterious as hers. I couldn't find anything on him. He seems to have appeared out of nowhere, just like Blue."

Jack's mind raced back to the young man who had visited the mansion.

"What's his name?" he asked.

"His name is Thorndike. And I think he's Mr. EddieDike's son. Rumors say they had a son whose identity they kept hidden."

Jack's eyes darkened. "Share this with no one," he ordered. Then, as if realizing something, he stood up. "Tell Mr. Watson that Blue is the heir to the Skinner empire."

His voice grew cold. "I want you to dig up dirt on the Dike family."

With that, Jack stormed out.

The moment he left, Agent Mark pulled out his phone and dialed Mr. Watson.

"I have new information," he said. "You won't believe what I just found out."
