*Authors POV:*
After his daily exercise, Adrian went to the kitchen to grab a glass of water. A loud scream interrupted him. Rushing upstairs to check what was wrong, he heard another scream, even louder than the first. Without wasting any more time, he dashed to her room. Seeing blood on the floor, he felt a slight pain in his chest. He gently picked Stella up, Stella who wanted to ask questions about her surroundings but couldn't speak due to the pain. She whimpered in silence as Adrian immediately instructed one of the maids to call his personal doctor, Dr. Chen Yu, a renowned expert in both advanced and local Chinese medicine.
He asked another maid to fetch a bowl and towel. Laying Stella gently on the bed, Adrian disinfected his hands and carefully removed the shards of glass from her thigh. This earned a large moan from her lips as he tried to stop the flow of blood with a towel. When she tried to intervene by holding his hands, Adrian raised his eyes to meet her gaze. "This bed you're lying on is worth millions of dollars," he said, swatting her hands away. "Do you want it to get soaked in your blood?"
Stella retorted, "I didn't ask you to put me in your bed!" Adrian increased the force of his hands, earning a loud gasp from her. "You either shut your mouth and let me do it gently, or you get thrown out," he warned. Stella, feeling scared, shut up, her anger boiling beneath the surface, while plotting her come back in her head...
A knock on the door broke the silence. Dr. Chen Yu had arrived. He immediately checked Stella's wounds and treated her properly, administering medication to ease her pain.
After Dr. Chen Yu finished, Adrian saw him off, stepping out into the hallway. Dr. Chen Yu led him to a corner. "Speak, it's safe here," Adrian reassured him.
"The snake gang is hell-bent on penetrating you," Dr. Chen Yu stated. "They believe you're backed by someone powerful in the Demon Black Gang, so they're planning to use you to lure them out. Feng Li, one of their Chinese experts, approached me for collaboration. I think we need to be alert; their attack this time seems well-planned, Master."
Adrian's eyes seemed lost in thought, calculating the situation. Frederick's presence broke the silence. Looking a bit haggard, Frederick exchanged greetings with Adrian without beating around the bush. "I think the snake gang found a top imperial hacker," he said. "Only a God-level hacker could counter it, and all our imperial hackers are on a mission. I don't know how they figured it out."
Adrian's expression turned thoughtful. "Somebody betrayed us, but I don't think it's someone from the upper class. They know they can't beat us physically, so they try hacking. Kudos to them; that's impressive." He said this with a smirk on his face...
