Ellie's voice cut off as she clawed at her face.
"I can't — see," she hissed, panic creeping in on her. "Something's covering my eyes!"
Jake reached up, instinctively, feeling the same cold cover over his own eyes. It seemed like it was deeply embedded into his skin — he cannot grab it nor can remove it. It was like fused to his skin.
"Don't pull at it," Ambrose said sharply. "It's part of the trial."
"Then, what are we supposed to do? Mark asked, his voice firm and tight with tension.
They all stood still in the pitch black, surrounded by deafening silence.
Finally, the voice rang out:

[The system will only notify you at the eight, five, three, and one-minute marks.]
