Chapter 9
Julian had warned Vivian in the car " we are to act like this perfect couple, if you mess up, you won't like the consequences ". Vivian stared at him with disgust but she had to comply knowing her life depended on it.
The hall of the event was glamorous, all were looking spectacular. A man in a black suit approached them and Vivian immediately recognised that it was julians father. She immediately greeted " good day sir its a pleasure to see you ". Mr Andrews happily welcomed them to a table where his friend was waiting and immediately he laughed " you guys look awfully convincing ". Julian looked surprised " what do u mean " the man answered with a smile 'while you are nailing the pretence, your wife isn't ". Julian adjusted his seat and spoke " what do u mean pretence ". The man smiled " to prove your love to me show me a kiss" Julian immediately agreed and pulled Vivian close then whispered " I know u hate me,but please make this kiss look real or I will kill ". Vivian heart began to beat faster than a drum as she saw Julian lean closer to her, he held her chin up and she closed her eyes as his lips slowly brushed against hers. The kiss was beautiful, Vivian exploded in fire works as her legs became numb. Julian was lost in the kiss that he kept leaning closer refusing to give Vivian the space to breath. Until the man coughed and Vivian pulled away shyly her cheeks as red as a radio active tomato.
Although Vivian knew it was pretence, the kiss felt so real, so passionate but then she snapped back to her senses there was no way on earth that Julian actually loved her. He was only pretending to love her. She went back to her seat and the discussion continued without a hidge. Mr Andrews asked with a rather interrogating face " well Vivian, why haven't you given my son children yet ". Vivian heart sunk, as tears began to form in her eyes she wanted to speak but she didn't know what to say she soon started crying silently and Julian noticed this inconvenience and spoke up " father, I told you, we just lost a baby stop making her feel sad." Julian said consoling Vivian, Vivian hated him she wanted to scream but just fell into Julians arms, crying her heart out.
Vivian's insight
I knew this would be the last night I would recieve any love, care or concern from Julian, so I wanted to take advantage of the moment.
After the event, Julian and I went home and I recieved 2 million dollars in my account, the sender congratulating me for a job well done.
I didn't care about money, I've had luxury ever since I was an infant what I wanted was true love, freedom to exercise my own right, not to be trapped in the hands of a devil. But one day I know I will have my say.
