Zara's foot tapped erratically against the polished floor, her teeth biting into her finger as she stared blankly at her screen.
Her shoulders tensed, refusing to relax no matter how hard she tried to push it away.
"Ms. Quinn, can you tune it down a notch? It won't change anything." Nadia's voice cut through the silence as she sat across Zara, her tone filled with exasperation.
Zara barely acknowledged her, eyes flickering with irritation.
"Why would you even give a response if you didn't hear what was asked?" Nadia grumbled again, her fingers skimming over her keyboard.
"Nadia Hamilton, can you stop blaming me? It's already bad enough that I have to put up with that bitch. Do I have to deal with you too?" Zara snapped, her patience hanging by a thread.
Nadia's brows shot up in surprise before she leaned back, crossing her arms. "You're not the only one who has to deal with her, Zara Quinn. I will too."
