After resting in the settlement camp for a few days, Leo grew tired of the boring life. He packed his belongings alone and sneaked into the Wolf-Driving Plain on the other side of the river again.

In the River Bend Settlement Camp, which was finally on the right track, there was heavy labor every day, and nothing new ever occurred.

Ulyan didn't intend to spare this "beast of burden" either. Either he would send him to build a dam or have him carry roof beams with the young and strong.

I'm a future squire! What's my standing? I'm not going to do this kind of rough work for you!

Leo packed his belongings and slipped away early in the morning.

The terrain of the Wolf-Driving Plain is uneven. There are also many hills and mountains. Especially on the side close to the foothills of the Grand Barrier, there are gullies and deep gorges formed by the impact of running water everywhere.

This land will be their future place of survival, and now it is on the verge of becoming the battlefield for the war against the Wild Boar Men.

The Wild Boar Men haven't located the River Bend Settlement Camp yet, but that doesn't mean they never will. The Wild Boar Men, with a strong sense of territory and aggression, won't sit back and watch any other race around them grow stronger.

Although the Wild Folk didn't agree to launch a joint attack on the Wild Boar Men, Leo wasn't going to wait for them to discover the camp and start a war here.

So Leo had to familiarize himself with the terrain in advance and seize the favorable time and place.

Continuously scaling the nearby high points and memorizing the terrain of this area, Leo spotted the traces of the Wild Boar Men outside a valley.

This place was already quite close to the Anzerno River. With a good knowledge of the way, one could reach the river bend in less than two hours.

Stealthily approaching, Leo saw a group of Wild Boar Man warriors emerge in the valley from hundreds of meters away.

Five Wild Boar Man warriors were taking cover in a sheltered spot in the valley, resting around a bonfire.

Beside them, four sturdy one-horned wild boars were lying.

Glancing around, Leo also observed that three Wild Boar Man warriors, brandishing crossbows, were standing on the high points of the valley, keeping watch.

Judging by the situation in the valley, this ought to be a hunting base of the Wild Boar Men.

Leo gauged the distance to the nearest Wild Boar Man guard, drew out his yew longbow, and readied himself to sneak closer.

Take a stealthy shot and then make a quick getaway. It's all about the excitement.

Just then, a faint whistle sounded from beside him. Leo spun around alertly and saw a bear head facing him over twenty meters away.

The bear head tilted up, revealing a bearded face beneath. It was, in fact, a Wild Folk Hunter.

This Wild Folk Hunter eyed Leo and made a gesture, signaling for Leo to halt.

Leo sneaked over quietly and found that there were two more Wild folk hiding beside him.

Their hiding skills were extremely high. Hiding in the forest and lying down in a suitable place, the brown bear skins or gray wolf skins on their backs could blend in with the pine needles and dead leaves. They were almost invisible beyond twenty meters.

The Wild Folk Hunter lifted the longbow in his hand and made a "follow me" gesture, then crept towards the valley.

Leo followed the three Wild Folk Hunters, climbed down the hillside, and got closer to the valley.

When they got within a hundred meters of the Wild Boar Men's bonfire, Leo suddenly heard the sound of a bowstring breaking from afar. The three Wild Boar Men standing guard on the hill were all hit in the head by arrows at the same time and rolled down the valley without making a sound.

Before the Wild Boar Men in the valley had time to react, the three Wild Folk Hunters beside Leo also bent their bows and nocked their arrows. Three sharp arrows flew out with a shrill sound of piercing the air, directly hitting three Wild Boar Man warriors.

Two of the heavy arrows penetrated the skull and chest of a Wild Boar Man respectively. The thick iron arrowheads protruded from the other side, already slightly deformed.

Because the last Wild Boar Man reacted quickly and rolled to one side, the last arrow only hit its palm.

Under the huge force, the thick palm of the Wild Boar Man exploded directly, and its fingers flew everywhere.

The Wild Boar Man warrior who had escaped the disaster let out a tragic howl, but did not lose his fighting spirit. Instead, he flipped over and picked up his heavy weapon, dragged it with one hand, and launched a charge with the remaining companions.

Leo was stunned. These Wild Folk Hunters were just like the keyboard warriors in his previous life. Every one of them was an excellent archer!

Although Leo had also been practicing hard with the yew longbow, even with good talent, he still couldn't guarantee that every arrow would hit the target from a hundred meters away. He could scarcely manage to ensure the hit rate within fifty meters.

The raiding Wild Folk Hunters did not pause at all. The heavy arrows in their hands were shot out smoothly. The arrows of the six people fell on the bodies of the Wild Boar Man warriors from all directions, almost forming a rain of arrows.

The last three Wild Boar Man warriors rushed out a dozen meters. They only had time to shoot the bolts of their crossbows in their hands before they were stabbed into hedgehogs and tumbled forward and fell.

Leo also shot an arrow, but in a hurry, the heavy arrow flew past the Wild Boar Man warrior and disappeared into the forest.

In the blink of an eye, a hunting team of eight Wild Boar Men was completely shot and killed by the Wild Folk, leaving only four frenzied one-horned wild boars.

The Wild Folk were also very skilled at dealing with these one-horned wild boars. Before they could get close, they climbed up big trees one after another and hugged them tightly.

Leo followed suit and nimbly climbed up a big tree. He had only climbed five or six meters when, the next second, the whole big tree shook violently, almost shaking Leo off.

A strong one-horned wild boar rammed into the big tree hard. The almost one-foot-long horn on its forehead was completely stuck into the tree trunk.

Surprisingly, despite such a violent impact, this one-horned wild boar remained unharmed. It just struggled to pull its horn out of the tree trunk.

Leo drew out his steel sword, held it with both hands with the tip of the sword pointing down, and then jumped down.

Taking advantage of the huge potential energy of the fall, the steel sword was deeply stabbed into the neck of the one-horned wild boar, almost piercing it through.

Leo habitually turned the steel sword instinctively and then pulled it to the side.

Half of the neck of the one-horned wild boar was cut open, and blood spurted out. Its struggling movements quickly slowed down and then became rigid.

The other three Wild Folk Hunters also changed to bone spears and cooperated to kill the remaining one-horned wild boars one by one.

After the battle ended, the leading Wild Folk Hunter walked up to Leo. He glanced at the one-horned wild boar that Leo had taken care of, and then looked at Leo's steel sword, with envy in his eyes.

"My name is Bjorn." The Wild Folk Hunter stretched out his right hand. "I saw you last time."

"My name is Leo." Leo quickly stretched out his right hand and grabbed Bjorn's arm. This was the traditional etiquette of the people in the Northern Region.

"What are you doing here?" Leo asked. Although this place was close to the River Bend, it was dozens of miles away from the the big waterfall.

"The number of Wild Boar Men is growing. We need to kill some of them," Bjorn replied tersely. As if he knew what Leo was about to say, he added, "Not every battle goes as smoothly as this one. Sometimes, we also take heavy casualties, especially in battles against a large number of enemies."

Leo could also clearly see that the Wild folk were skilled in archery, but their armor and weapons were rather primitive. In contrast, the Wild Boar Man warriors were extremely strong and naturally had a strength advantage over the Wild folk.

If they fought the Wild Boar Men in close combat, the Wild folk would also be at a disadvantage.

As long as their numbers grew, the Wild Boar Man warriors could command the one-horned wild boars to charge and disrupt the Wild folk's shooting. Once caught in a melee, the Wild folk could only retreat in defeat.
