He recognized those sandals instantly—it was Harmes, the messenger of the gods, the god of travel. He descended from the sky with effortless grace.
"Damn show-off," he muttered.
He stood in front of all the students, his presence was radiating power. Then he spoke, "Hello, brothers and sisters." He glanced at Kael. "And cousins." His eyes had a bright silver glow, his silver cloak shined in the sunlight, his posture was perfect.
No one moved. They were all on their knees and their heads down. Then he spoke, "Listen up, demigods. You were all selected for a quest."
No one dared to talk. He continued, "You will enter the crack in the sky." He realized that it made everyone confused, so he looked at Chiron, and he nodded.
"Students, you may ask a question."
No one talked. No one wanted to say anything, as if they all lost their voice. Then Kael raised his hand, and Chiron said, "Yes, Kael."
"So are you saying there is a world on the other side of that thing?" he asked.
