Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: New Mob?

When Zeddy finished crafting the door, he hurriedly placed two wooden doors in the empty doorway, knowing how dangerous the night could be.

With that done, he turned his attention to making another sword. His wooden one was close to breaking, and he needed a replacement.

Then his eyes lit up.

"Wait, chat... if I can make a wooden sword, doesn't that mean I can make a stone sword or even an iron one?" he said excitedly.

With that, he stepped out of the house and walked about ten blocks away. He dug a small 2 by 2 space into the ground.

After digging for a bit, he finally uncovered stone. Without hesitation, he began breaking it. The process was slow, but he persevered.

His excitement grew as he watched the final cracks spread across the block. It was about to break then finally.

Brk!

As he looked at the spot, he was dumbfounded and utterly confused.

"Hey chat, my stone block is gone. I think it's really broken," Zeddy said with a sigh.

He started digging again, hoping for a different result, but sadly, no stone block appeared.

"Yep… the game is busted," he muttered, feeling a bit defeated.

Live Chat:

[RobGod: Maybe there's a requirement, Zeddy]

[ExpertGamer: Maybe it's just malfunctioning a bit]

[69Cables: The game is pretty cool, and after watching for a while I think there are really some things you have to do. Since the game is made pretty well. Other than there being no tutorial, everything is good so far.]

...

Zeddy, of course, looked at the chat to see what they had to say, and his eyes landed on the long comment from 69Cables.

Reading it, his mind felt a wave of enlightenment. He had been starting to doubt the game, thinking it might be bugged, but everything else had been working smoothly so far.

"Alright then, I should focus more on the trees. Also, chat, whoever helps me figure out how to break this stone, I'll be giving away 100 dollars. Remember, first come, first served," Zeddy said with a smile.

The viewers were ecstatic. Those who had already downloaded the game hurriedly began experimenting, eager to be the first to solve the mystery.

Since 100 dollars was not a small sum for most of the viewers.

Considering the average salary of a cashier at KFC ranged from 12 to 15 dollars an hour, that amount equated to roughly six and a half hours of work.

Zeddy climbed out of the hole he had dug and went off to chop down more trees. After a while, he had gathered about 52 oak logs.

As he turned his view, he spotted a sheep. He knew this creature could be a source of food, and he was aware of the dangers when his hunger turned zero.

Without hesitation, he approached and struck it with his wooden sword.

After 7 or 8 hits, the sheep let out a faint sound and vanished in a puff of smoke, leaving behind a few item drops.

[Wool x1] [Sheep Meat x1]

"A wool? Well, that's a new one," he said in surprise.

Suddenly, a notification buzzed on his account. Curious, he opened it and saw that someone had already solved the mystery.

[ZedGod: I've solved it, Zeddy. Here's the video: (Video Attachment)]

Clicking the video, Zeddy watched closely. The sender had no hearts or hunger bar visible in his screen recorder.

After asking a few follow-up questions, he discovered the truth, about creative mode which worked differently from survival mode.

It didn't follow the same survival mechanics, and because of that, breaking stone without the right tool yielded no drops.

He also noticed in the video that there were countless items and blocks, leaving him frozen in shock at how deep the game actually was.

The first thing he saw was the player crafting some kind of pickaxe made out of wood. After that, he used it to mine stone, which then turned into cobblestone.

From there, the player crafted a stone sword. But it didn't stop there, the sender also demonstrated how to create other tools, including an axe and a hoe.

"Wow, thanks, my guy! I didn't know there's actually so much more interesting stuff in this game," Zeddy said as he sent the reward plus an extra 50 dollars making ZedGod super duper duper duper duper duper duper happy!

"As you can see from the video, the game actually has a creative mode where you can build and do whatever you want," Zeddy explained to the chat, his character now standing beside a freshly placed crafting table.

"But since we've already started, let's finish the game first."

With a few quick clicks, he dragged three wooden planks across the top row and placed two sticks down the middle.

A wooden pickaxe appeared in the result slot.

He crafted it and made his way back to the 2 by 2 space he had dug earlier. This time, when he broke the stone, it finally dropped as cobblestone.

After gathering a good amount, he returned to the crafting table and created a stone pickaxe, a sword, and an axe.

Just then, the second night fell. He knew danger was approaching.

This time, he stayed inside his house, peeking out through the window, which still had no glass, as he watched those mobs begin to gather in the darkness.

The window he was looking at is about 3 blocks high so no baby zombie can enter that place.

"Huh, a spider? Well, that's an eye-opener," he said to the chat, watching the creature crawl up the side of a tree.

That was when he caught sight of something else.

At first, it was just a shadow moving oddly in the distance. Then it stepped into view, or more accurately, glided.

Its body was tall and green, with a strange pixelated texture, almost as if it were wearing a camouflage suit made of mossy bricks.

No arms raised, no snarls or screeches, just two black, empty eyes wandering across the area.

"What kind of alien creature is this?" Zeddy said in confusion, narrowing his eyes at the screen.

Its shape was unnaturally tall, cylindrical, and eerily smooth, like some extraterrestrial entity that didn't belong in this world.

It stood about ten blocks away from his house, and as Zeddy watched, the mob began to move slowly walking toward his shelter, as if it had locked onto prey.

When only five blocks remained between them, the creature paused. It seemed to sense the presence of a player.

Then, it lifted its head and stared directly into Zeddy's eyes.

As it approached the window, Zeddy leaned in closer, curious about the mobs. From his upper position, he looked down to get a better view.

The creature was staring up at him, its face was oddly calm and even cute. But then, a soft, terrifying sound began to rise from it like a fuse being lit.

It began to glow white, a sudden flash pulsing from its body, making Zeddy freeze in place, unsure of what it was doing.

The creature trembled slightly, its form tightening as the ignition sound grew louder.

Boom!

The explosion was loud and powerful that threw him back as a shockwave rippled through the area, tearing a small acre of the ground apart.

The wall that had been protecting him was gone, blowing it wide open. Panic set in immediately.

Suddenly, one skeleton stepped through the hole, a bow in hand, followed by two zombies groaning as they slowly advanced toward him.

"This is not good!" Zeddy shouted, quickly equipping his stone sword, heart pounding as the enemies closed in.
