After fifty-two days of construction, the Riverside Workshop was officially completed yesterday—just a day after Rus attempted his magical awakening.
Thank the heavens this world hadn't invented ribbon-cutting ceremonies yet. Rus was spared a long, awkward ordeal filled with staged smiles and speeches he wouldn't even believe himself.
How could anyone possibly enjoy their accomplishment while standing under the blazing sun, sweating through their clothes and pretending to be cheerful?
The workshop was a square building, 56 meters on each side. Its outer walls stood five meters tall and three meters thick, and each corner was capped with a three-meter-high watchtower, providing a clear, unbroken view of the entire premises and surrounding area.
To the southeast, a canal connected the workshop to the Goldsand River, circling the building with a two-meter-wide moat.
