Wan Li Canal.
Starting from the south at Su Navigation, extending to the frontier in the north, spanning tens of thousands of miles with winding waterways, it is the major artery connecting the northern and southern parts of Liang. Every day, tens of thousands of boats shuttle back and forth upon it.
It is precisely because of this canal that food and salt from the south can be continuously transported to the Capital.
It can be said that the prosperity of Liang owes much to this canal.
And because of its importance,
Liang has added positions such as Transport Commissioner and Inspector on top of the existing official roles, all aimed at ensuring the smooth flow of the canal.
Today, the canal looks no different from usual, with an exceptionally calm surface.
However, in the depths unseen by the common folk, the waters are tumultuous.
