Mayday. Mayday. Someone, anyone, please pull me out of this car. I'm trapped in a moving capsule of awkward silence and escalating tension. I find myself fake-watching the scenery outside, pretending to be enthralled by the transition from the bustling cityscape to the serene countryside. The towering skyscrapers give way to rolling hills, dense forests, and the kind of untouched greenery that would make a nature documentary jealous. It's as if we've been transported to the Adirondacks, where glacier-carved mountains and over 3,000 lakes and ponds create a vast wilderness, offering an unparalleled natural escape.
But despite the breathtaking views, my mind is a whirlwind of regret and confusion. Why am I just wearing a blank distracted look as I gaze over the window?
