Momo took a deep breath, trying to ignore the chaos around her. Explosions and crashes echoed as Bakugo faced the Nomu in the middle of it all, his body enduring blows that could easily crush anyone.
'I'm scared. Scared for myself, scared for Bakugo, scared for everyone, but… I can't hesitate.' She wiped the tears from her eyes and stood up.
"Everyone, listen!" Momo shouted, her voice strong enough to cut through the noise. "I have a plan!"
***
'It wasn't supposed to be like this. Why did Shigaraki send the Nomu so soon?'
Bakugo couldn't feel his arms anymore, and his back felt like molten lava, every movement sending waves of pain through his body. But that didn't matter. None of it mattered at that moment. His focus was locked onto the Nomu. His wide eyes analyzed every tiny movement.
Bakugo noticed that the Nomu hadn't been given a clear objective. It was like a weapon without direction, attacking indiscriminately. 'That's good. It's not targeting any of us specifically.'
Whenever the Nomu's fist threatened someone, Bakugo was there, intercepting the blow at the last second.
This was only possible because of his suit. When he sent in the design, Bakugo added a system of tubes that transported his explosive sweat throughout his body. This allowed him to simulate the secondary effect of using Cluster for an extended period, spreading explosions across his entire body.
Thanks to this, he was fast—not at the same level as when he fought Shigaraki/OFA, but fast enough to keep up with the Nomu. The problem was that it wouldn't last forever.
The system depended on the sweat from his hands, and right now, all of it was being used against the Nomu, leaving nothing to replenish the mechanism. In short, he was racing against time.
'...Asui!'
The world seemed to slow around him as he saw the Nomu's massive fist coming down on Tsuyu. Timing his explosions with precision, Bakugo propelled himself forward, reaching her the instant before the fist could.
At the critical moment, he arrived, shoving Tsuyu out of the way. As he positioned himself in her place, his world narrowed even further.
With a swift motion, he placed his hands in front of his body. Sparks of sweat exploded violently, growing in intensity until they culminated in a deafening blast at the exact moment the Nomu's fist struck him.
BAAAMMM!!
BOOOMMM!!
UUFFSSHHH!
Even with the explosion he generated at the moment of impact softening part of the blow, Bakugo was still sent flying back with brutal force.
Crashing into the ground hard enough to form a crater, he pushed himself up and launched forward again, hunting down the Nomu, which was already preparing to attack another student.
And it continued. Every time the monster tried to advance, Bakugo was there, intercepting its blows with explosions. He leaped, spun, and fired condensed blast after blast with near-inhuman precision, interrupting every attack like a living shield.
'I won't be able to keep this up much longer,' Bakugo thought, constantly moving. 'They need to get out of here so I can—'
His thought was cut off when he noticed something different.
The Nomu, which had been attacking randomly before, suddenly stopped. Its wild eyes, which had roamed aimlessly, were now locked onto him.
For the first time, the monster recognized Bakugo as a threat.
"You finally looking at me?!" Bakugo growled, a fierce grin spreading across his face even as blood trickled from the corner of his mouth. "Then come on! Let's finish this now!"
The monster lunged at him in a fraction of a second, its massive fist cutting through the air like a guillotine. Bakugo prepared to dodge, only to realize that his sweat had dried up on the rest of his body.
His tube system was completely empty.
'Shit!' That was all he managed to think before the impact hit him full force.
CRACK!
The sound was as brutal as the pain. The Nomu's fist slammed into his torso with devastating force, launching him like a cannonball. Bakugo shot through the air, crashing into a concrete wall that exploded into shards around him.
He hit the ground with a heavy thud, ears ringing and vision blurred. For a moment, everything around him felt distant, as if the world was submerged underwater. Each breath was a struggle, an effort that brought sharp, relentless pain.
"F-Fuck..." he muttered, trying to move his arms, which trembled like branches in the wind. 'How did I mess up at a time like this?' His half-closed eyes saw the blurred silhouette of the Nomu walking toward him, a predator closing in on its prey. 'I need to… I need to…'
"HEY, UGLY!"
A sticky ball smacked onto the back of the Nomu's head, making it turn around to see a small boy standing there, his whole body shaking and his eyes brimming with sheer terror.
'How did I agree to this?' Mineta thought, his heart pounding in his chest as he pulled two more sticky balls from his head. Sweat dripped down his forehead, but even so, he managed to blurt out the most ridiculous thing that came to his mind: "C-COME AT ME IF YOU'RE A MAN!"
The Nomu roared.
'Please work… I can't die a virgin!'
The Nomu lunged at high speed along a trail of sticky balls that Mineta had set up before provoking it. At first, it seemed like it wouldn't be enough to stop the creature.
But gradually, as more and more of the sticky spheres accumulated on its feet, the Nomu's movements began to slow. Its steps grew heavier until, finally, it stopped completely.
Momo didn't waste a second. "Sero, now!"
"On it!" Sero fired one of his tapes toward Mineta. The tape wrapped around the boy's waist, and Sero yanked with all his strength, pulling Mineta out of the monster's reach.
"Jiro, you're up!" Momo shouted.
"Got it!" Jiro connected her jacks to two large speakers Momo had created moments earlier. With a fierce cry, she channeled her Quirk, sending two devastating sound waves straight at the Nomu.
The attack reverberated with such force that the ground around them trembled. The Nomu roared in pain, its hands flying to its head in a desperate attempt to block out the deafening noise.
"Yes! Keep going, Jiro… just a little longer!" Momo encouraged, counting down five more seconds before giving the next command. "Now! Phase two!"
At her signal, Jiro cut off the sound attack, and Tokoyami leaped into action. "Dark Shadow!"
The dark entity shot forward, swift and fierce, wrapping around the Nomu in an attempt to restrain it further. At the same time, Shoji and Sato charged in, each grabbing one of the monster's massive arms with all their strength.
But the Nomu's raw power was overwhelming. With a single jerk of its body, it flung Shoji and Sato away like rag dolls. Dark Shadow still clung to it, but the moment the Nomu's hands gripped the shadowy form, its hold started to weaken.
"Hurry! I can't hold much longer!" Dark Shadow cried out, strain evident in its voice.
"Hold on, Tokoyami," Momo ordered, watching as Hagakure worked to connect the conductive cables at precise points on the creature's body. When Momo saw that she had succeeded, she didn't hesitate to give the next order. "That's enough, Tokoyami! Kaminari, do it now!"
"Got it!" Kaminari shouted, gripping the cables tightly. His face was tense, but his eyes burned with determination. "Discriminate Shock: 1.3 Million Volts!"
A blinding flash erupted as the electric surge raced through the wires, striking the Nomu directly. The monster's body convulsed violently, sparks dancing around it as the electricity took over.
The Nomu's roar was drowned out by the crackling energy. It struggled, trying to move, but its muscles seized up from the shock, and Mineta's sticky substance held it firmly to the ground.
The electricity finally began to fade after a few seconds, and Kaminari let go of the wires with a giddy smile. "That… was awesome."
Knowing his role in Momo's plan, Todoroki slammed his right foot into the ground the moment Kaminari's attack ended, his eyes locked onto the trembling Nomu. 'Heaven-Piercing Ice Wall'
A wave of ice burst forth from his leg, spreading rapidly across the battlefield and engulfing the Nomu in a massive crystalline prison. The sound of freezing ice echoed as the towering wall solidified, completely trapping the monster.
For a moment, everything fell silent. The students of Class 1-A stood frozen, staring at the icy barrier. Steam rose slowly from the structure, and the only sound was the heavy breathing of the exhausted students.
"D-did we do it?" Jiro asked, her voice shaky, still connected to the speakers.
"I-I think so…" Sero replied, uncertainty lacing his words as he eyed the frozen prison.
But Momo didn't lower her guard. Her sharp gaze remained fixed on the ice wall, analyzing every detail. Then she saw it.
Small movements began to stir within the frozen mass. Thick, muscular arms flexed against the icy restraints.
"This…" Momo murmured, her expression tightening. She turned to her classmates with urgency. "Phase three, now!"
CRAAACK!!
The deafening sound of shattering ice echoed as the Nomu roared, unleashing its full fury.
Tired of being trapped, it grabbed its own right leg with both hands and, with sheer brute force, began pulling it upward. The strain was so intense that the foot remained stuck in Mineta's adhesive, while the rest of the leg ripped free.
Nomu then noticed footsteps approaching rapidly.
"Give it up!" Kirishima roared, charging at the creature with his body fully hardened.
The Nomu barely glanced at him before swinging its arm in a simple yet devastating motion, sending Kirishima flying.
But that moment of distraction was all Tsuyu needed to position herself above the monster after a leap. 'Good luck, Ochako-chan,' she thought, swinging her tongue, which was wrapped around Uraraka, launching her toward the Nomu.
Since Uraraka had removed her own gravity, the speed she reached was astonishing, closing in on the villain rapidly. As soon as she arrived, she extended her hand, stretching her fingers as far as she could.
For a moment, it seemed like she wouldn't reach. But at the last second, her hand touched the Nomu's rough skin.
BAM!
She hit the ground hard, and pain spread through her body, but it was nothing compared to the crushing weight she felt as she activated her Quirk on the monster. "So… heavy!"
Fragmented thoughts mixed with the unbearable pressure that seemed to squeeze her stomach. Hot bile rose in her throat, forcing her to swallow dryly, trying to maintain control. "I… won't last much longer!"
Meanwhile, the Nomu's massive body began to float, rising slowly and awkwardly. It roared, a guttural sound of pure fury, swinging its arms and legs in all directions. Its left foot, still stuck to the ground by Mineta's sticky balls, was the only thing keeping it connected to the floor.
"Surrender!" Thirteen's firm voice rang out for everyone to hear. She had positioned herself in front of the Nomu, her index finger pointed. Her stance was resolute, but there was visible tension in her shoulders. "You've lost!"
The response she received was a ferocious roar. 'Does it really have no consciousness?' Thirteen wondered, a shiver running down her spine.
Her eyes quickly turned to Uraraka, who was on the ground, struggling to stay conscious. Sweat dripped down the girl's face, her arms shaking as if holding up an entire building.
Thirteen's frown deepened, her expression hardening. 'There's no other choice. I have to end this now.'
With renewed determination, she adjusted her posture and pointed her finger directly at the Nomu's legs. "Black Hole!"
A black vortex began to form, sucking in the air around it and pulling the monster's legs with immense force. The Nomu roared again, trying to grab onto something, but its efforts were useless. The power of the black hole started consuming its legs, disintegrating them until nothing was left below the waist.
At that exact moment, Uraraka felt her limit approaching. Her body gave in, and with a voice barely audible, she murmured, "R- release..."
As soon as the words left her mouth, her Quirk deactivated, and her exhausted body collapsed completely. Uraraka vomited on the ground, the superhuman effort taking its toll.
Tsuyu landed beside her and immediately held her carefully. "You were amazing, Ochako-chan. Now, breathe deeply."
Without its legs and without the support of zero gravity, the Nomu's massive body crashed to the ground with a dry, heavy thud.
When silence finally fell over the battlefield, the weight of the moment settled in. One by one, the students began to realize the monster was motionless.
Some sighed in relief, their bodies collapsing to the ground as if they were made of lead. Others started crying, tears mixing with the sweat and dirt on their faces, an overwhelming relief that seemed to drain all their remaining strength.
Thirteen slowly lowered her hand, staring at the Nomu's motionless body. She took a deep breath, her voice barely above a whisper. "We… did it…"
But what came next froze every single person in that field.
ROOOOAARR!!!
The monster's roar cut through the air like a blade, filled with pure savagery. Thirteen took a step back, her eyes fixed on the Nomu's legs, which slowly began regenerating before their very eyes. "This… isn't possible…"
"No… No, no, no!" Mineta stammered, fear overflowing in his voice. He stumbled backward, falling to the ground.
"This should've been over… we… we did everything right," Hagakure said, clutching her head as thick tears rolled down her invisible face.
"What do we do now?" Sero spoke with a choked voice, looking around as if expecting someone to have a magical answer.
Tokoyami squeezed his eyes shut, trying to muffle the deafening sound of his heart pounding. "Dark Shadow… was it all in vain?"
"Is it invincible?" Mina questioned aloud, gripping Kurogiri's body tightly, having taken over Kaminari's role.
Momo pressed her trembling fists against her lips, desperate for a solution. 'I need another plan… I can't fail them now…'
Tsuyu held Uraraka tighter in her arms, fear and disbelief evident on her face. "Ochako-chan… what do we do now? I… I don't know anymore…"
"There's no way…"
"We can't…"
"We're dead…"
Todoroki remained steady, but his expression was dark. 'If it can regenerate, we'll have to destroy it completely—'
BOOOMMMM!!!
The deafening sound shattered their fears and thoughts. Everyone turned, surprised, looking up.
There he was—Bakugo, cutting through the U.S.J. sky, his body propelling upward with a monumental explosion, leaving a trail of smoke and sparks in the air.
***
When Bakugo reached the peak, the world seemed to freeze. The noise, the chaos, the fear—everything disappeared. He was above it all, literally and figuratively. The wind whipped against his face as he looked down at the battlefield, at his exhausted classmates, at the regenerating Nomu.
Despite the searing pain and overwhelming fatigue, he felt something rare: absolute clarity. It was as if every fiber of his being was aligned, as if all the chaos around him had been organized into a single purpose.
'Good job, guys…' he thought, a fierce, determined grin forming on his cracked lips. Small explosions began crackling in his hands, lighting them up with an intense orange glow. 'Now, leave the rest to me.'
Bakugo crossed his arms in midair, focusing every last drop of his explosive sweat. With a roar that rivaled the Nomu's, he unleashed a massive explosion, propelling himself downward in a spiraling dive.
The movement began to create a tornado of pure force and heat, a vortex that sucked the oxygen from the air, fueling the devastating energy he was building up.
The Nomu lifted its head just in time to see a hand press against its face.
"HOWITZER IMPACT!!!"
