Handel turned around and his blood froze.
Right behind him, the Bony Dragon loomed tall, its skeletal frame crackling with frost. Its massive skull head opened wide, and from within, a chilling bluish light pulsed and grew brighter.
Cold mist swirled around it. Snowflakes melted and reformed mid-air. Ice crystals shattered beneath its claws. The ground trembled as it shifted its weight.
Kael, still slumped lazily on Lyria's back, clapped slowly mocking, calm.
"Now tell me, Handel…" he grinned, eyes gleaming with lunacy, "Can you survive that?"
Handel barely got a breath. "No… wait—!"
KRAAA-KOOOOOM!!
The dragon fired.
A devastating blast of raw ice burst out of its jaws like a tidal wave. The beam cracked through the air, tearing apart rocks and flattening everything in its path.
Handel screamed.
"NOOO! NOOOO! PLEASE, HAVE MERCY! STOP!"
But the cold didn't listen.
The blast hit him dead-on.
