With the realization that they were both trapped here, Underworld was the first to break the silence. Her lips curled into a confident smirk as she crossed her arms.

"I have the full backing of the League of Assassins," she stated, her voice dripping with authority. "I can connect you to Ra's al Ghul himself and more. And if you're smart, you'll take my offer. The League doesn't just deal in death—we deal in control. I can employ our assassins to serve your interests, eliminate problems before they even become problems. Of course, there's one condition." She met Nuxsus's gaze, her golden eyes gleaming. "You guarantee my safety and never act against the League. Do that, and you'll find yourself with one of the most powerful forces in the world at your disposal."

Nuxsus arched an eyebrow, pretending to be intrigued. "Oh? And what exactly can the League do for me?" He leaned forward slightly, feigning curiosity.

Underworld took the bait, excitement creeping into her tone. "There's no one we can't kill, no secrets we can't uncover. You want information? We have sources embedded in every major power structure—governments, criminal syndicates, even the Justice League. And more importantly..." She let her words hang for a moment before delivering the final lure. "I have something no one else does. I can get you Kryptonite—the only weapon in the world capable of bringing Superman to his knees. It won't be easy, and it won't be cheap, but given time, I can procure it for you."

A slow grin spread across Nuxsus's face. "Interesting..." His gaze shifted, locking onto the Broker. "And what about you?"

The Broker remained silent for a moment before sighing, shaking his head. "I can't offer what she's offering." Then, slowly, a smirk tugged at his lips. "Because unlike her, I don't sell services—I sell information. I don't deal in alliances or favors. I deal in knowledge, and knowledge always has a price. Even if it costs me my life, I don't give anything away for free."

A sharp sound sliced through the air as Artoria pressed her dark blade against his throat. A thin line of blood formed along the edge, yet the Broker didn't so much as flinch. His smirk never wavered.

Nuxsus chuckled. "Interesting. It seems one of you actually understands what this is about." He turned his gaze back to Underworld. "Miss Underworld, correct? Your services are certainly appealing. But here's the thing—I don't care about assassinations. I don't care about mercenaries for hire. I care about information. Knowledge of powerful people, people who can serve me. People who are loyal." His eyes gleamed with amusement. "Can you provide that?"

Underworld's smile faltered slightly. "I—"

"Actually, let's change the game," Nuxsus interrupted, turning his gaze back to the Broker. "Since one of you seems a little reluctant..." His grin widened as he leaned back in his chair. "How about this? You two give me information about each other. Expose each other's secrets. Only then will I decide who lives—and who dies."

....

Underworld felt her stomach drop. She was fucked.

Not because she lacked power or influence—but because she knew nothing about him.

The Broker.

She didn't know where he got his information, how he obtained it, or even if he had minions or associates. His existence was a ghost, shrouded in secrecy, while she operated in shadows known to many.

He, however, knew everything about her.

The Broker turned his gaze to Nuxsus and spoke with an air of nonchalance.

"Her real name is Whisper A'Daire. She's the League of Assassins' eyes in the underground, tasked with expanding their influence and making them stronger. That's her goal. That's her loyalty. And that's why I wouldn't pick her." He smirked. "She's already devoted to someone else. And worse? Her reach barely extends beyond Gotham. Me, though?" He chuckled. "That's a different case entirely."

Underworld's breath hitched. She had no counter—no way to fight back. She was trapped.

But she wasn't going down without a fight.

"Even still!" she snapped, her voice laced with desperation. "I can provide information about others! Sure, I don't know who this bastard is, but that doesn't mean his work is better than mine!" She turned her attention fully to Nuxsus, her expression shifting from anger to desperation. "Lord Nuxsus, think about Kryptonite! It's not easy to obtain, but I can get it! Not just for a cheap price—no, for you, I'll get it for free!"

Nuxsus sighed, leaning back in his chair, unimpressed.

"Nothing you offer is useful," he said, shaking his head. "You say you can assassinate anyone? Then go ahead—kill Batman. Kill Superman. Kill Flash." He let the words sink in before smirking coldly. "If you could, you would have already. So don't brag about something that's impossible for you."

Underworld had no response.

Nuxsus let out a low chuckle, shaking his head. "You know what? I'm having fun. And I'm in a good mood." His crimson eyes gleamed. "I'll give you both another chance." He leaned forward, his smile sharp. "What do you know about me?"

Underworld immediately latched onto the opportunity, grinning.

"Nuxsus Valtieri. Lord of Chaos. A rising powerhouse. You stole a shipment from very important people. You wiped out the League of Villains's enforces!. You killed a Green Lantern and sent Green Arrow into early retirement." She smirked wider. "And most recently? You were the one who attacked Cadmus."

She took a step forward, eyes gleaming. "I also know you have lightning powers. You're a vampire. A reality bender. And somehow… you can strengthen those around you."

Nuxsus raised an eyebrow, genuinely impressed. "Not bad." He turned his attention to the Broker.

The man simply sighed. "I want twenty million dollars a year. Not ten. And I want full liberty. My name, my identity—everything about me stays hidden. In exchange, I'll provide you with what you need."

Underworld's expression twisted with rage. "Look at him! He doesn't know! He's just—"

The Broker cut her off with another sigh, his tone dry and unaffected.

"King Nuxsus," he said. "King of Nuxsus. And the man responsible for the fall of the Bronze Age."

Silence.

Then, slowly, Nuxsus's lips stretched into a wild grin.

Darius, sensing his master's decision, moved without hesitation. His blade impaled Underworld before she could react, and with a swift motion, he sliced her head clean off.

Her body hit the ground with a dull thud.

"Congratulations," Nuxsus said, still grinning. "You win."
