Chapter 213 - System Input and Tactical Shift

Sunday Night, Jake's Office (Post-West Brom Recovery)

The glow from the monitor was low, clinical. Midnight-blue shadows crawled along the edges of the room, interrupted only by the gentle click of data blocks loading one by one across Jake Wilson's curved screen.

He sat motionless. Leaned slightly forward. His elbow hovered above a forgotten mug of tea now gone cold.

The footage played without sound—FC Basel in red and blue, attacking with aggression but retreating like a team unsure of its own backline. Jake's eyes flicked between frames: a missed marker here, an untracked runner there.

Then the system interface blinked to life.

MATCHDAY 4 – SYSTEM PREDICTION

FC Basel Win – 50%

Bradford Win – 30%

Draw – 20%

A line of quiet static filled the speakers before the next prompt slid into view.

RECOMMENDED FORMATION: 3–5–2

RATIONALE: Basel struggle vs dual striker systems. Weakest in half-space coverage. High defensive line, aggressive fullbacks.
