Post-Match Press Conference
The press room still hummed from the match—low voices, camera shutters, the scrape of chair legs as reporters repositioned. The air was warm, lights just a touch too bright. A UEFA-branded bottle of water sat unopened in front of Jake.
He didn't lean back. He didn't lean forward.
Just sat, jacket still zipped, posture calm.
Sky Sports:
"Jake—2–0. No goals conceded. Was this the cleanest European performance yet?"
Jake:
"No. But it was the most controlled."
He paused for half a second.
Jake:
"We didn't take risks. We took moments. That's different."
Yorkshire Football Post:
"Silva's in special form—what does he bring that's changed this team?"
Jake looked toward the reporter—not to answer, but to see who had asked.
Jake:
"Timing. Not just his own. He affects everyone else's."
There was no grin. No flair. Just the answer.
Jake:
"He knows when to slow down, and when to make others speed up. That's not speed. That's clarity."
