The camera panned across the stadium, catching the shimmer of floodlights on claret and amber scarves. The night air was cold enough to turn breath visible, thick enough to carry the echo of every chant. The Kop wasn't singing—it was roaring, a hoarse, relentless wall of voice that shook the metal railings with every pound of boot against concrete.
From the upper tiers, the choreography unfolded—giant flags billowed over heads, crests unfurled in synchronized waves. Someone near the front lit a flare low against their coat, casting a defiant red glow that shimmered off painted cheeks and wide, unblinking eyes.
