I took a step forward, reaching out to open the small pink box closest to me.
Wow!
My hands trembled. I turned to look at Christian, "It's beautiful."
Christian walked over and took the magnificent diamond necklace out of the box and draped it around my neck.
It consisted of many large rectangular diamonds that were intricately fastened together. It sat just above the collarbone and sparkled beautifully.
"Not nearly as beautiful as you are, but I am happy, it looks just as I thought it would. It really suits you," he said after taking a small step back to look at me.
I looked into his eyes, unsure of what to say. I was beyond happy to receive such a beautiful gift, but I didn't know what I did to warrant such a gift.
Christian leaned over and kissed me, reading my mind.
"Don't think too much. I simply wanted to make you smile. Please accept it," he said softly, tickling my ear with his breath.
