Chapter 17 - Chapter 49-50-51

Chapter 49 – A Return to Coronado

Jacob was in his living room at home, adjusting a tactical watch that had been part of his routine for years. Khloé watched from afar, intrigued. He seemed thoughtful, almost nostalgic.

"Is everything okay?" she asked, approaching and wrapping her arms around him.

Jacob smiled slightly, turning to face her.

"Yeah, I was just thinking about visiting Coronado. I haven't been there in years."

Khloé raised her eyebrows, curious.

"Coronado? Where did you train?"

"Exactly. That's where the SEALs start. I wanted to see what things are like there, maybe meet some familiar faces."

Khloé's eyes lit up.

"Can I come with you? I want to see that side of your life."

Jacob hesitated for a moment, but her enthusiasm was contagious.

"Sure. But I warn you, it might be a little… intense."

Khloé laughed softly.

"I've survived your training at the gym, I think I can handle this."

When they arrived at Coronado Naval Base, the sun was shining brightly, reflecting off the waves of the Pacific. Khloé looked around, admiring the military infrastructure and disciplined atmosphere of the place. Jacob led her through the busiest areas, explaining details about the training and equipment.

"This is where BUD/S (Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL) takes place," he said, pointing to a large open field with challenging obstacles. "It's the first step to becoming a SEAL."

Khloé noticed a group of young recruits running across the sand, heavy logs on their shoulders. They were covered in sweat, but they stood firm under the shouts of their instructors.

"It looks brutal," Khloé said, frowning.

Jacob smiled, remembering his own days as a recruit.

"Yeah, and that's how it should be." Only the strongest, physically and mentally, make it to the end.

As they walked, a group of older men with rigid postures and impeccable uniforms approached. Jacob immediately recognized some of them.

"Master Chief Reynolds," Jacob said, greeting one of the men with a firm handshake.

Reynolds smiled, clearly surprised and happy to see him.

"Lieutenant Commander Ward! I can't believe I see you here."

The other instructors also approached, greeting Jacob with respect and admiration. It was clear that he was still a legendary figure among them.

"What brings you back, sir?" Reynolds asked.

"I wanted to check out the new generation," Jacob replied. "And show my girlfriend a little bit of this world."

The instructors looked at Khloé, recognizing her immediately. Although they didn't show much emotion, there was curiosity in their eyes.

"It's a pleasure to meet you," Khloé said politely, extending her hand.

Reynolds smiled and shook her hand.

"It's our pleasure, ma'am."

Reynolds looked at the group of recruits still training on the sand.

"I think it would be a good idea to introduce you to the current class. They need to know whose heir they are."

Jacob shook his head, humble as ever.

"I don't think that's necessary, Reynolds."

"With all due respect, sir, they need it."

Reynolds called out to the recruits, who ran in formation in front of the instructors. They were exhausted, but they held their ground.

"Men, today you have the rare honor of meeting one of the greatest SEALs of all time," Reynolds began, his voice ringing with authority. "This is Lieutenant Commander Ward, DEVGRU, Red Squadron."

The recruits looked electrified. Some exchanged glances, clearly recognizing the name and the reputation that came with it.

"Not only did he survive BUD/S, but he led missions that you've only heard about in rumors. If anyone here has anything to teach them, it's this man," Reynolds continued.

Jacob stepped forward, shoving his hands in the pockets of his jeans. He looked at the young men, recognizing the same glow of determination he had felt in himself all those years ago.

"You are on one of the most difficult paths anyone can choose," he began, his voice calm but firm. "But it is also one of the most rewarding. Never forget that what you are doing here is not just for yourselves, but for the men and women who will fight alongside you, and for the country you are sworn to protect."

The recruits listened intently, taking in every word. Khloé watched from a distance, impressed by the way Jacob commanded respect and admiration.

After the recruits were dismissed, Reynolds walked alongside Jacob as they made their way to a quieter area.

"They know the legend, Jacob, but it's good for them to see the man behind it."

Jacob gave a slight smile. — The legend is always bigger than the reality, Reynolds.

Reynolds laughed.

— Maybe, but in this case, the reality comes close.

Khloé, who was with them, asked:

— Was Jacob always like this? So... intense?

Reynolds looked at her with a laugh.

"Always. He was the kind of leader who made you want to go beyond what you thought was possible."

Jacob shook his head, uncomfortable with the praise.

"I was just doing my job."

As the sun began to set, Jacob and Khloé said goodbye to the instructors and left Coronado. On the way back, Khloé was thoughtful.

"It's incredible to see the impact you've had on these people's lives, Jacob."

He looked at her, smiling softly.

"They've impacted me as much as I've impacted them. It's a privilege to have been a part of that."

She took his hand, squeezing it lightly.

"You're so much more than I ever imagined."

Jacob chuckled softly.

"Is that good or bad?"

"Definitely good," Khloé replied, smiling brightly.

And so, as they drove home, Khloé felt like she had discovered yet another layer of the man she loved, while Jacob, for a brief moment, reconnected with the world that had shaped his life so much.

Chapter 50 – Sharing the Experience with the Sisters

Khloé sat in her living room, with a cup of tea in her hand, as she waited for her sisters. She was still processing everything she had seen in Coronado with Jacob. The experience had been so unique that she felt the need to share it with Kendall, Kim, Kourtney and Kylie.

When the intercom rang, Khloé quickly opened the door for her sisters to enter. They were all excited and curious, knowing that she had something special to tell.

"Okay, Khloé, what's the mystery?" Kylie asked, plopping down on the couch with a smile on her face.

"That's right, you have that smile of someone who has a story to tell," Kim added, adjusting her coat as she sat down next to Kendall.

Khloé laughed, sitting down in the armchair and crossing her legs.

"Well, I was in Coronado with Jacob. He wanted to visit the base where the SEALs train."

"Coronado?" Kourtney asked, frowning. "What's so special about it?"

"That's where the SEALs start," Khloé explained. "That's where he did his initial training, BUD/S. He wanted to see the next generation."

"And you went with him?" Kendall asked, leaning forward. "That sounds intense."

Khloé smiled.

"Yeah, but it was also fascinating."

Khloé began describing the day, from the moment they arrived at the base to the meeting with the instructors.

"When we got there, the recruits were training in the sand, carrying huge logs on their shoulders. It was surreal. And the instructors? All of them were Jacob's alumni. They treated him like he was a living legend."

"Well, he is, isn't he?" Kylie interrupted with a smile. "I mean, from what we've heard, he's like… a real-life action hero."

"Kind of like that," Khloé agreed. — But he's so humble. When the instructors started talking about him to the recruits, he got visibly uncomfortable.

Kim frowned, intrigued.

— What did they say?

— That he was one of the best SEALs ever, that he led missions that changed the course of history, that kind of thing. They made all the recruits pay attention to him.

— And what did Jacob say? — Kendall asked, laughing. — Was he embarrassed?

Khloé laughed, remembering the moment.

— A little, but he gave a little speech to the recruits. He said that what they were doing there was bigger than themselves, that it was about the team, about the country.

— He seems so serious in those moments, — Kourtney commented. — It's impressive.

— But wait a minute, — Kylie said, leaning forward. — Was that training you saw like in the movies?

— Well, not exactly like in the movies, — Khloé replied. — But it was brutal. You could see the effort on the recruits' faces. And the instructors… They're relentless."

Kim raised an eyebrow. "Did you get to see why Jacob is so intense?"

Khloé nodded. "Absolutely. It shapes who you are. It's not just physical, it's mental. Seeing that gave me a whole new perspective on him."

Kendall smiled. "And now you respect him even more, right?"

"A lot more," Khloé admitted. "But you know what was really special? When they told the recruits they were in the presence of a legend, their faces showed they already knew. Jacob's reputation precedes him."

"Wow," Kylie said, impressed. "That's so… powerful."

"And what was it like for you to see all that?" Kourtney asked. "Like, being in that world of his?"

Khloé sighed, trying to find the right words. "It was like stepping into a part of his history that I never imagined. He's so private about it all, but being there, seeing how respected he is, it was… amazing."

"Did he ever show any skills?" Kim asked curiously.

Khloé laughed.

"Not really, but you can see in his eyes that he's still connected to this world. He's like a quiet force."

Kendall frowned, intrigued.

"Did he talk more about his missions?"

"Not much. He's discreet about it, as always. But you could tell he has a special affection for Coronado and the people there."

"Khloé, do you have any idea what a man you have?" Kim asked, crossing her arms. "He's not only an incredible partner, he's also a national hero."

"I know," Khloé replied with a smile. "But to me, he's just Jacob."

"Sure, but let's face it," Kylie said. "He's incredible. And you should be proud of that."

"I am," Khloé said. — Very much.

Kourtney tilted her head thoughtfully.

"Do you think he misses this world?"

Khloé thought for a moment before answering.

"I think he does. But he's also happy with the life we have now. He's found balance."

Kendall smirked.

"And you found a man who is literally the whole package."

Khloé laughed, tossing a pillow in Kendall's direction.

"You guys are impossible."

The sisters continued discussing the trip for a while longer, all intrigued and in awe of Khloé's experience.

"Do you think he'd ever come back to this world?" Kim asked curiously.

"I don't know," Khloé replied. "But he's still connected. He has friends there, and you can tell he's never really disconnected."

Kylie smiled.

"Well, at least we know that if we need help saving the world, we know who to call."

They all laughed, while Khloé shook her head.

"You guys are unbelievable," she said, laughing along.

As the night went on, Khloé felt happy to have shared this piece of Jacob's life with her sisters. It was a world she was just beginning to understand, but she knew that the man she loved was someone truly special.

Chapter 51 – The Beach Hero

It was a perfect day at the beach. The sun was shining brightly, the sky was clear, and the Kardashian-Jenner family was taking the time to relax and connect.

Jacob, Khloé, and her sisters were in a private area of the beach, chatting, eating, and having fun. Kim and Kylie were taking selfies, while Kris, always elegant, sipped a cocktail under the shade of an umbrella. Jacob was sitting next to Khloé, both enjoying the breeze and the sound of the waves.

"This is paradise," Khloé commented, looking at Jacob.

"I agree," he replied, putting his arm around her. "But you know I prefer action, right?"

Khloé laughed, shaking her head.

"Yeah, you can't stay still for long."

As they talked, a commotion began to draw attention. People were running toward the sea, pointing and shouting. Jacob frowned, immediately on alert.

"What's going on?" Kendall asked, looking around.

Jacob jumped to his feet, trying to understand what the people were shouting.

Khloé put her hand on his arm, worried. "Jacob, what's wrong?"

"Someone's drowning," he answered, his tone serious.

Jacob didn't hesitate. He quickly took off his shirt, revealing his sculpted physique, and started running toward the nearest pier.

"Jacob!" Khloé shouted, following a few steps behind him.

"Stay here!" he replied, looking back for only a second before continuing to run. The woman was far away, visible only as a small figure thrashing in the waves. Jacob climbed onto the pier, assessing the distance and the conditions of the sea.

His SEAL training kicked in automatically. "It's all in the mind," he muttered to himself, remembering the words of his instructors.

He took a deep breath and jumped into the water, creating a huge splash that made the people around him applaud in encouragement. The waves were high, but Jacob swam with precision.

His arms and legs moved with strength and control, cutting through the water like a machine. Each stroke brought him closer to the woman who, at that point, seemed about to lose her strength.

As he swam, he thought about his training experience. Night dives, simulated rescues in rough seas, all of it had prepared him for this moment. "She needs me now. It's just one more mission."

When he got close to the woman, Jacob noticed that she was swallowing water and struggling. He spoke calmly but firmly: "Stop moving! I'm here to help."

She tried to grab him, but he knew exactly how to position himself to avoid being pulled under. Jacob held her steady with one hand and began to swim back with the other, remaining calm despite the fatigue that was beginning to set in.

On the sand, Khloé and her family were in total tension.

"He's going to make it, right?" Kylie asked, grabbing Kendall's arm.

"Of course he will," Khloé replied, her eyes fixed on the sea.

Little by little, Jacob began to emerge from the water, carrying the woman in his arms. The audience around him, which now included dozens of people, began to applaud.

"He made it!" Kim shouted, excited.

Jacob placed the woman on the sand, knelt beside her and began to perform cardiac massage. He counted the movements in a low voice, concentrating.

"Breathe. You can do it. Breathe," he said, beginning mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

After a few seconds that seemed like an eternity, the woman coughed, expelling water and starting to breathe with difficulty. People around him applauded and cheered with joy.

Jacob stepped back a little, making room for others to help the woman. He ran his hand over his face, trying to catch his breath. Khloé ran to him, kneeling beside him.

"Jacob, are you okay?" she asked, her eyes shining with concern and pride.

"I am," he replied, smiling slightly. "She's going to be okay."

"You were amazing," Khloé said, placing her hand on his face.

"It's just instinct," he replied humbly.

As the paramedics arrived to tend to the woman, several people approached Jacob, congratulating him and asking to take pictures. He politely declined, explaining that the important thing was that the woman was safe.

"You could have been a little more dramatic," Kim joked, trying to ease the tension. "Like, 'just another day at work for me.'"

Jacob laughed, shaking his head. "You guys are awesome."

"But seriously, Jacob," Kris said. "What you did today was extraordinary."

He shrugged. "Anyone could have done it."

"Not everyone has the training you have," Kendall countered. "Or the courage."

Khloé smiled at him, proud as ever. "I knew you were amazing, but today you surpassed all expectations."

On the way home, the whole family was discussing the incident.

"That should be in a movie," Kylie commented. "You literally jumped off a pier like a superhero."

"It was just reflex," Jacob insisted. "Training and years of practice."

Khloé looked at him in awe.

"No matter what you say, Jacob. Today you were a hero to that woman and to all of us."

He took her hand, squeezing it lightly.

"I just did what anyone should do."

As the car drove down the road, Khloé thought about how grateful she was to have Jacob by her side. Not just as a partner, but as someone who was truly making a difference in the world.
