FlickerFlicker
Candlelight moved across the old wooden walls, making shadows dance in the dim chamber. The room was simple - just a meditation cushion in the center, mystical symbols on the walls, and a small altar where incense smoke drifted upward. The sweet smell of sandalwood filled the air.
Crackle
A person in a beige robe sat cross-legged on the wooden floor. The robe seemed to catch and reflect the gentle light, its material unlike anything found in normal clothing. Years of practice showed in the way the robed person straight-backed but relaxed.
The robed person's hands rested palm-up on the knees, placed with the perfect balance that comes from years of meditation. Everything about the scene spoke of ancient wisdom and strict training.
TinkleHum
An unusual pendant hung from the robed person's neck - shaped like an eye and made from what looked like bronze. As candlelight played across its bronze surface, the pendant suddenly began to vibrate, breaking the silence
Flash
A bright green light burst from the pendant, filling the room with an eerie glow. The eye-shaped metal seemed to wake up, its center opening to reveal a strange green stone.
The robed person's eyes snapped open, showing unusual grayish pupils that caught the light oddly. Surprise crossed the person weathered face - a rare expression for someone so practiced in staying calm.
"Interesting," the robed figure murmured, recognizing the green flash as a sign of disturbance in time. Through the pendant's magic, an image formed - a young man who had just appeared in this reality.
CrackleFlicker
The candles responded to unseen forces, making shadows dance more wildly across the walls. A knowing smile crossed the robed person's lips, showing both excitement and careful thought.
"The threads of fate have begun to move," the robed person whispered. "A new player has entered the game, one who shouldn't exist in our world."
Hum
The pendant vibrated stronger as the robed person closed those strange, shimmering eyes. Through the ancient artifact's power, the mystic could sense far beyond normal sight, feeling the exact moment this young man had appeared in this world.
(The timing must be perfect), the robed person thought. (This child must find his own way at first. Even with this unexpected arrival, I also cannot rush meeting my future protege.)
Incense smoke curled strangely as the mystic opened those unique eyes again, looking at the glowing pendant. "Two paths meet, but no one knows where they lead," the mystic spoke softly to the empty room. "Time will show when their paths should cross."
The mystic returned to meditation pose, but beneath that calm surface, thoughts raced with new purpose. Around the room, candle flames flickered harder, as if responding to destiny shifting in that simple chamber.
(The pieces begin to move), the mystic reflected, staying perfectly still despite feeling excited. (A year should be enough - time for both the young man and my future student to prepare for what's coming.)
HumFlicker
The pendant's glow slowly faded, but kept vibrating softly. The mystic didn't move, letting the familiar sandalwood scent and gentle candlelight return the room to its peaceful state.
But under this calm scene, the mystic's weathered face held a slight smile - the look of someone who had seen the first moves in a game of centuries old.

An elevator opened into a high-security facility. The clean hallway stretched ahead, metal walls shining under bright lights while hidden cameras watched every move.
TapTapTap
A middle-aged man in a black suit stepped out, his polished shoes making sharp sounds against the floor. Though he walked calmly, something urgent pushed him toward the heavy door at the hall's end.
BeepWhirClick
After checking his identity several ways, the thick door unlocked.
Psssh
The large meeting room inside was full of advanced technology. Screens covered the walls showing endless data, while a big table sat in the middle, reflecting blue light from above.
RustleTap
By the tall windows, a man in a black trench coat stood facing the window, listening to a woman in a blue tactical suit holding a report. The last sunlight came through the glass, painting the sky orange-red as night approached.
Clear throat
"Ahem. Sorry for interrupting your discussion Sir, Ma'am. I've something to report."
The woman in blue smiled, though her eyes stayed sharp. "Don't be. I have just finished anyway. What's happened?"
"About an hour ago, we detected some kind of unknown energy activity in New York," he said, keeping his voice professional.
The man in the trench coat asked, "The exact location?"
"Still unclear, Sir," he answered as he look at the man facing the sunset.
ShiftTurn
The trench coat rustled as its wearer turned fully. "One hour. One hour and you didn't get anything?" His voice carried an edge that made even experienced agents tense up.
Having worked under this man for years, the suited agent didn't back down. "As the disruption was fast but not destructive enough, the device-," he paused, "we still can't pinpoint the exact location."
The woman cut in, her voice calm but worried, "What about the general area?"
"Around Manhattan," the middle-aged man answered simply.
The man turned back to the window, thinking about this news. "Manhattan, huh?" he muttered.
The man in the trench coat grew serious, his hand moving toward his chest before stopping.
Quiet filled the room. After thinking for a moment, the superior spoke again. "Say, Hill, Coulson, could it be those rascals? Or something from... another place?"
The woman, Hill, and the man, Coulson, stayed quiet.
After a short pause, Coulson said, "We don't know for sure, Sir, but we'll look into it." He tapped his device, calling a special team. Hill contacted another group, telling them about the possible threat and asking for help right away.
"If it's what we think it is," Hill said softly after her call, "we could be facing something we've never seen before."
The man nodded, something heavy settling over the room. They all felt it: this event could lead to something bigger. Their years handling strange cases told them that energy signatures appearing from nowhere never meant anything good.
TapTap
Coulson's fingers moved across his tablet. "I'll have agents search the area right away, Sir. If there's anything unusual, we'll find it."
"Good," the man in the trench coat answered, his single eye fixed on the darkening sky. "Keep me updated on anything you find. My gut tells me this isn't just another random event."
The room fell quiet as daylight disappeared completely, leaving only the glow from screens lighting up their worried faces. Whatever this disturbance was, they knew from experience that it was probably just the beginning.

Charles's wheelchair moved quietly across the polished floor, with Jean Grey walking steadily beside him. They made their way through the halls of their institute's lower levels, where high-tech equipment blended smoothly with the building's elegant design.
"Thank you for the help, Jean."
"No problem, Professor. It's my pleasure."
Whir
They approached the elevator, where Jean lifted her hand slightly, using her powers to press the call button. The soft sound of machinery filled the short silence.
"Professor," Jean paused before continuing, "I know you're going to use Cerebro. Would it be okay if I come with you?"
Charles turned his wheelchair to face his student, giving her a warm smile. In his mind, Jean was one of those special students who would one day become a pillar of the school he built - someone who could guide others like them.
"Of course not, Jean. But if I remember right, didn't you have a group study with Katherine and the others?"
"Ah well, you see Professor Charles," Jean's face turned slightly annoyed, "it was canceled earlier because a certain tutor gave us an 'impossible' task, 'due' tomorrow." She rolled her eyes, though Charles could sense her real frustration.
"Then wouldn't that be more reason to hold the group study?"
Jean straightened up, doing a perfect copy of a certain teacher-like manner. "I will give you a task to write an essay about the topic which... I'll give you in a moment." She paused for effect. "And to make it more fun, each one of you has a different topic. I want it with a minimum of 4 pages. Turn it in tomorrow on my desk."
Charles chuckled at her imitation. "That does sound like Hank. Though maybe you should be working on that essay instead of joining me?"
Jean smiled confidently. "Don't worry, Professor. I've finished it - with the bare minimum, of course."
Charles shook his head with a mix of amusement. "Well, I suppose I can't argue with completed work, even if it's just meeting minimum requirements." He paused, giving her a knowing look. "Alright then, you may join me. Though I expect you'll put more effort into your next assignment?"
"Of course, Professor," Jean answered quickly, perhaps too quickly, making Charles raise an eyebrow.
Ding
The elevator brought them to a long hallway with metal surfaces gleaming under careful lighting. At the end stood a huge circular door, nearly ten meters tall, marked with an enormous 'X'. As they got closer, the playful mood slowly changed.
BeepScan
Charles put his palm on the scanner, making a hidden keypad appear. His fingers moved quickly across the keys, entering a complex code.
HissWhoosh
The massive door opened to show Cerebro's round chamber. A narrow bridge went from the entrance to a circular platform in the middle, where a control panel waited. Above it hung a sleek metal helmet, connected to the panel by many cables.
Jean watched with quiet respect as Charles positioned himself at the control panel. Even though she'd seen this many times, watching her mentor change from teacher to guardian of the people like them never failed to impress her.
ClickHum
As Charles put on the helmet, the chamber came alive. A holographic globe appeared, spinning briefly before zooming in to show their location. Thousands of blue dots lit up, each one showing a human mind, while Jean observed from behind the professor.
"Hmm, let's see. Last week I scanned some parts of England. There were some gifted people over there. Now, should I scan the whole U.S.?" Charles thought aloud. "No, scanning the whole country will take too much of my concentration and energy. I think I'll try to scan the county first, then New York. I'll leave the other parts of the U.S. for later."
The display changed, focusing first on Westchester County. Jean watched as blue dots filled the map, overlapping each other in familiar patterns.
Blip
Suddenly, without warning, a new blue dot appeared on the map.
"Professor?" Jean noticed his sudden tension, her earlier playful mood vanishing instantly.
"This is... extraordinary," Charles murmured, his fingers tightening slightly on the panel's edge. "A consciousness has just... materialized. Not gradually, like when our gifts manifest, but instantly - as if someone simply appeared out of nowhere."
Jean moved closer, studying the pulsing dot. Her training kicked in as she thought about what this meant. "Could it be like Kurt's ability? Similar to his teleportation?"
"No," Charles shook his head slightly, his expression troubled. "Kurt's signature was distinctly mutant in nature - a green dot. This is... different. Either completely human or..." He stopped, focusing hard on the signal.
The display zoomed in more, centering on Manhattan's port area. Charles carefully took off the helmet, placing it back in its holder. The weight of responsibility settled over him as he thought about what this discovery could mean.
"Jean," he said, his voice carrying quiet authority, "we need to investigate this. Please inform Storm that her skill might be needed. Something about this signature..." He paused, choosing his words carefully. "It's unlike anything I've encountered in all my years of using Cerebro."
Jean nodded, understanding how quickly their evening had changed. As she turned to carry out his request, both mentor and student shared a knowing look - unexpected events like this could mark the beginning of big changes, changes that could affect not just their school, but perhaps the whole world.
