CALVIN
The city lights blurred into streaks of red, gold and every other colour that existed in the world as my car breezed through the empty streets before popping out onto the slightly busy road of Manhattan. I tried to control my emotions and the steering wheel of my car to avoid any accidents, as I made sharp turns and overtook cars with different speed ranges.
My car engine growled like the ache in my chest as I knowingly pushed it past its limit. My heart raced with every second that passed by, so many possibilities drifted through my head as I imagined how my life would be without Lily and how hers would be without me in it. Separated by a long distance, would her heart yearn for another?
No! I screamed in my head, shaking off that negative thought, because even the slightest idea of it had caused an intense pain in my heart that I feared it would fail.
No. I have to find her, I must find her and convince her to come back home.
