Harold was standing on the opposite end of the room, and in his hand, he held a staff that had a red jewel embedded at the top. It pulsed with power at regular intervals, showing that it was an artifact as well.
The guard was holding Harold's shoulders and trying to talk him out of whatever he was about to do.
Azrael didn't move for a few seconds, simply surveying the room for any signs of danger beyond the both of them and when Azrael was sure that there was nothing that could harm him, he raised his head up and glanced straight at Harold.
The next few moments happened in the span of a single second.
Something almost primal seemed to activate in Harold's mind. The natural reaction to danger for every human is to turn and see what it was that threatened them.
Even though Harold had no idea that Azrael had been standing in the shadows for a moment, his natural instinct, born from years of evolution, forced him to turn his head towards the shadow of the hallway.
