Chapter 17 - Chapter 17 : Awakening

Third person's POV

"He owned her heart ,but she never owned he's "

Amber's eyes shone with tears as she enveloped her sister in a tight hug. "Sister, finally, you're awake" Dove's gaze faltered, confusion etched on her face. She tried to sit up, but a wave of dizziness washed over her.

"What...what do you mean, awake?" Dove's voice trembled, her memories hazy. Amber's grip on her sister's hands tightened.

"Dove, you've been asleep for a century, ," Amber whispered, her voice cracking with emotion.

"A spell has been cast over you , one that I've finally managed to break with Medusa's help."

A mix of relief and joy fluttered across Amber's face.

As Dove's gaze cleared, her thoughts zeroed in on one person , Felix. Her heart skipped a beat, and her voice barely above a whisper, she asked, "How's Felix?" A century of sleep hadn't erased the ache in her chest, the longing for the man she loved.

Amber's expression turned somber, her eyes clouding over. "Dove, you need to know…." But before she could continue, Dove's memories came flooding back.

As Dove's gaze cleared ,memories began to resurface. She remembered standing before Felix , the intensity of he's eyes burning into her skin . The air has been charged with magic , and Felix's determination has been palpable .

The room spun around Dove, and she felt herself tumbling backward. Amber's arms wrapped around her, holding her close. "I'm dizzy," Dove whispered, her mind reeling with the weight of 100 years of lost time.

Dove's hands trembled as she raised the glass to her lips, the water's coolness a welcome respite from the turmoil brewing inside. "Did Felix put me into this?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Amber's expression turned somber, her eyes clouding over. "Not exactly, Dove. You...you did it to yourself." The words hung in the air like a challenge, and Dove's gaze snapped up, searching for answers.

Just then,Medusa swept into the room , her long , dark hair billowing behind her .Her gaze locked on Dove , a mixture of curiosity and concern flickering in her eyes .

Dove's gaze fell on her sister , a rush of emotions tangled within her , joy ,confusion , and the lingering fog of her long slumber .

"Little demon sister," she murmured, her voice dripping with affection. The air seemed to vibrate with Medusa's presence .

The Rex , Medusa's lair , was a maze of dark corridors and hidden chambers .The air was thick with the scent of old books and burning candles , casting flickering shadows on the wall , and Dove's senses struggled to keep up.

"What do you mean, my fault?" Dove demanded, her head spinning with the implications. Her eyes locked onto Amber's, searching for clarification, but Amber's expression remained enigmatic.

Amber's words dripped with a mix of sadness and resignation. "You saved Felix's life that day, Dove. Well, not that it would've affected him the same way..." Her voice trailed off, leaving the unspoken words to hang in the air.

Medusa settled into a chair, her gaze never leaving Dove's face. Her voice was laced with sarcasm. "Oh, little demon sis, you did it all for love. For a man who doesn't even love you back. Not even once." Medusa's eyes sparkled with amusement. "And now, he's married."

Amber shot Medusa a cold glare, her eyes flashing with warning. The air was thick with tension, the weight of Dove's feelings palpable.

Dove's eyes widened, her face pale. "Married?" she whispered, her voice trembling. She pushed herself up from the chair, her movements unsteady.

Medusa rolled her eyes. "For fuck's sake, Dove, sit down. You just woke up from a 100 year nap." Her voice was firm, but a hint of concern flickered in her eyes.

Dove's movements were deliberate as she lowered herself back into the chair, her eyes flashing with a fierce intensity.

Amber's voice was a gentle breeze, trying to soothe her sister's frayed nerves. "It's just rumors, Dove. Felix isn't married. And even if he was you need to let go."

A low , menacing laughter rumbled from Dove's throat . The sound sent a shiver down Amber's spine , her eyes widening in alarm .

"Rumors?" Dove repeated, her voice dripping with venom. "I don't want rumors. I want facts. And the fact is, Felix is mine. Only mine." Her gaze locked onto some point in the distance, her eyes burning with a fierce possessiveness.

Medusa and Amber exchanged nervous glances, their faces reflecting their concern. They knew Dove's obsession with Felix all too well, and they feared for the consequences of her unhinged emotions.
