After waiting for about an hour, a small black dot appeared on the horizon.
Goku, with the best eyesight, shouted, "John, Bulma, look! There's an old man over there!"
"Where? Where?" Bulma asked, standing up and looking out to the ocean.
When she realized that she could only see a small dot, she said to Goku, "You have such good eyesight. You can see so far!"
Goku, indeed, had seen the sea turtle carrying a bald, skinny, white-bearded old man with a turtle shell on his back.
The sea turtle quickly swam to the shore, and Master Roshi jumped off the sea turtle onto the beach. Seeing the three people in front of him, he asked the sea turtle, "Who saved you?"
Although Bulma had repeatedly suggested leaving the sea turtle behind and giving it to the bear-headed man, the sea turtle knew that it was only because Bulma was an ordinary person. So, it didn't say that Bulma was its savior.
The sea turtle stretched out its flipper and pointed to John, saying, "This gentleman, John, promised to take me back to the sea."
Then, it pointed to Bulma and said, "This young lady, Bulma, gave me a bucket of saltwater to drink, saving me from dying of thirst."
Finally, it pointed to Goku and said, "This young man, Goku, defeated a bear-headed man and saved me from being eaten."
"Oh, so many people saved you. I need to think carefully about what gift to give them," Master Roshi said to himself.
At this moment, Bulma noticed the Dragon Ball hanging around Master Roshi's neck. It was glowing because it was close to the three Dragon Balls that John and his group had collected.
Bulma tugged on John's sleeve and said, "Hey, John, look at the Dragon Ball hanging around that old man's neck."
John, of course, had already seen the Dragon Ball around Master Roshi's neck and whispered to Bulma, "Wait, let's see what gift he wants to give us first. Then, we'll consider whether we can exchange it for the Dragon Ball."
Master Roshi finally figured out what gift to give to John and his group. He raised his cane and shouted, "Come, Phoenix!"
However, it was a bit embarrassing, as after a few seconds, there was no sign of the phoenix, except for a few seabirds in the distance. One of the birds even dropped a pile of bird poop on Master Roshi's head.
Master Roshi was furious and wanted to burn and eat the bird that had insulted him, but the sea turtle stopped him, reminding him that they were still waiting for him.
Master Roshi wiped the bird poop off his head with his handkerchief, but unfortunately, it smeared all over his face. He threw away the handkerchief and used seawater to wash his face clean.
After cleaning himself up, Master Roshi said, "I thought that by giving that bird the name Phoenix, it would live forever. But it seems that life is unpredictable, and no one knows what will happen in the future."
"Since that didn't work out, I'll give you an even better gift," he said, assuming the same pose and shouting, "Flying Nimbus!"
Again, there was no response for a few seconds, and Master Roshi's forehead began to sweat. Just as he thought he had failed again, a light yellow cloud flew towards him from the distance.
Bulma and Goku were amazed as they watched the Flying Nimbus, wondering what this treasure could do.
Master Roshi proudly explained, "This was a gift from Cat Sage many years ago, and it has been with me for hundreds of years. Now, I'm giving it to you."
Goku looked at the yellow cloud and asked, "How do we eat this?"
Master Roshi immediately said, "This isn't for eating. It's for riding. It can take you anywhere in the sky, and only those with a pure heart and no evil thoughts can ride it."
"Forget it, I won't show you how to use it," Master Roshi said, feeling that words alone couldn't demonstrate the power of the Flying Nimbus. So, he decided to demonstrate it himself.
Master Roshi walked up to the Flying Nimbus and jumped onto it, but instead of riding it, he fell right through it.
The sea turtle quickly went to help Master Roshi up and asked with concern, "Master Roshi, are you okay?"
"What's going on? Why can't I ride it?" Master Roshi was puzzled.
At this moment, Goku was eager to try it out and said, "Let me give it a try." He jumped onto the Flying Nimbus and successfully rode it, much to everyone's surprise.
"He, he, he's riding it, Master Roshi," the sea turtle exclaimed.
Master Roshi was amazed and said, "It seems that this gift is meant for you. You have a special connection with the Flying Nimbus."
"You can try flying with it," Master Roshi suggested to Goku.
Goku happily rode the Flying Nimbus, soaring through the sky and gliding over the ocean. Bulma looked on with envy.
Bulma asked Master Roshi, "Can I have a Flying Nimbus like this?"
Master Roshi shook his head and said, "I only have one. Bulma, you'll have to choose another gift."
Bulma, admiring the Flying Nimbus that Goku was riding, said, "Okay, then tell us what gift you want to give us."
Master Roshi hesitated, as he didn't have many valuable items, and the Flying Nimbus was already the best gift he could offer.
At this moment, John nudged Bulma and pointed to the Dragon Ball hanging around Master Roshi's neck. Bulma understood and said, "Since you can't think of a gift to give us, why don't you give us the Dragon Ball hanging around your neck?"
