Chapter 15 - A world collapsing

Over the next few months, Inari's name became synonymous with fear. Known only as the fallen god She traveled across the world, annihilating all remnants of cultivators.

She sought out the strongest cultivators and sects, challenging them to battles that were more like slaughter. Inari left the world in eternal darkness, an omen of the fate to come.

Her goal was simple: to find a way to break out of the world.

But as she fought the strongest among these mortals, she realized that the world of Wuxia was a prison, Her divine instincts told her so.

It was designed to keep its inhabitants trapped to farm them. She had seen this world far and wide but there was no direct way to ascend.

Whoever had trapped them in this layer was benefiting from the cycle of souls harnessing their energies for some purpose, most likely to benefit them.

The only way to escape was to destroy the system that held it together. And so, Akari set out to do just that.

She began by targeting the strongest sects, wiping them out one by one. Her power was unmatched, and even the most skilled cultivators were no match for her. As she fought, she gathered information, piecing together the secrets of the world and the system that controlled it.

Unfortunately the only way out of this world would be difficult. One she could never tell anyone else about.

"If someone is farming and gaining something from their "crops" what happens if all the plants die? they wouldn't have any use for the farm anymore."

So Inari with a stone heart walked toward the village at the base of the mountain.

"I'm sorry for what I must do.."

Months passed and any intelligent life form that was a part of this world was long gone.

Years had flowed like a running river but Inari looked exactly as she did before. Her youthful youth was decadent and beautiful no matter how many decades had passed.

It has been hard but Inari was close to the end.

Sitting in a large overgrown patch of flowers was the infamous twelve tailed beast.

She was not doing much, compared to the violence she had been known for; this was a side no one in this world had ever seen.

Inari ran her hand close to the ground before firmly grasping the stem of a determined weed and uprooting it from the ground.

She ran her eyes against the ground in which a stone plate was embedded in the ground. A happy but somber smile spread on her face before she cleared the lump in her throat and spoke.

"Hello Al, it has been a while… I am sorry for not visiting recently, i have been really busy but it is okay. Because soon.. I will be with you. I just have a bit left, I promise. Do you miss me like I miss you? Of course you do, who am I kidding ha. It is almost over sweetheart. I found the last missing piece."

She brought her hand to her mouth before kissing it and placing her hand on the stone.

"Soon"

Inari finally found what she was looking for. Deep within the heart of the world, hidden away in a forgotten temple, was the source of the system that controlled the soul cycle. Tying those who die in this realm to itself allows the souls to endlessly reincarnate.

It was a massive crystal, pulsing with energy and surrounded by ancient runes. Divinity pulsed inside of it brightly glowing in a multitude of colors.

Inari called the moon from herself in which it has always and will always reside and allowed its moon light to sign upon the runes.

"You could never hate me right Al?"

With those words of comfort she pressed her hands forward pressing them against the ridged crystal before running her energy through it.

It was uncomfortable… she could feel her head being filled with memories that weren't hers. Flashes of farming, ruling, death, infidelity… It never seemed to end.

A loud creaking helped snap her out of the trance, allowing her to focus on directing her divine energy into the crystal.

Finally it happened. She could no longer fill it anymore. A metaphorical brick wall now stood in her way. Inari was not mad… in fact she smiled as she uttered one word.

"Eclipse"

Finally, with a deafening crack, the crystal shattered, and the world around her began to disappear. The sky turned black, and the ground beneath her feet crumbled away as the world of Wuxia collapsed in on itself.
