The moment Emma left I couldn't bear it anymore.
"Get out of my mansion, Nyx," I announced already losing it bit by bit
My voice echoed through the foyer like a slap against marble sharp, cold, and loud enough to slice through the silence she tried to wrap around herself like a shield.
"If by the time I return from work, I still see your shadow lingering in this house," I paused, narrowing my gaze as I dragged my eyes over her, "then I swear, I will make living here feel like hell carved into stone."
Her mouth parted like she wanted to argue as she always did but I didn't give her the satisfaction. I took a step forward, steel tightening in my jaw.
