IAN
As I watched Emma sit beside me in the car as we found our way to the pack, a series of emotions swirled inside me. I had been worried sick about her, fearing for her safety and well-being.
But here she was, looking carefree and happy as if she didn't have a worry in the world.
I felt a pang of frustration and concern. Didn't she realize the danger I thought she had been in? Didn't she know how much I cared about her?the fuvk! All through the moment I was worried my mate was here enjoying the horse race.
I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down. I knew I had to be patient and understanding. After all, Emma was still learning about the ways of the pack and the dangers that lurked outside.
As I approached her, she looked up at me with a smile. "Hey, alpha Ian. How about Lucy? Won't you take her with you?" Finally, she asked as she laughed from the car.
I got annoyed with her question. How could she be so calm and collected when I was seething with worry?
