As she closed the door, she threw another jab at Lionel, "Your Majesty, the elders and ministers are all waiting in the grand hall for council. Unless you want them plotting rebellion, you'd better get out of that bed now!"
"Ah... the elders can wait. Besides, they're far more understanding than you, Duchess Renata. This is mine and Margie's first day as newlyweds!" Lionel shot back, implying Renata was heartless.
The door slammed shut, and the room fell into silence again. I pulled the blanket down to peek out and take a deep breath of fresh air.
