She exited the mansion and marched toward the far corner of the driveway, where her car was parked. Her breathing was heavy by the time she reached the driver's seat. She yanked the door open and sank inside, slamming it shut behind her.
The moment the car door closed, the fury she'd been holding back erupted. She slapped the steering wheel once, twice, then let out a growl of frustration.
"This can't be happening," she muttered through gritted teeth.
She fumbled in her bag and pulled out her phone with trembling hands. Her jaw locked as she stared at the screen, unsure who to call first. The betrayal stung deeper than anything she had anticipated—not from Zane, but from Emma.
"That woman," she whispered.
Her eyes narrowed, and her lips curled into a sneer.
