At that moment Chloe's mouth dropped.
She didn't know what to say.
Victoria's heart skipped. That dress? For Valentina? How?
Immediately Chloe folded her arms and gave a small smirk. "Let me guess," she said, still facing the sales attendant. "When you bring out the dress, Raymond will pretend to get a call. And Valentina will suddenly remember she left something in the car. That's how broke people act when they're caught pretending."
She turned back to Valentina.
"You know, I actually admired you once," she added, her tone quieter but sharper. "Before the accident, before all of this. But now? You're just doing too much to prove yourself."
Valentina's lips parted slightly, but she still didn't speak. Her silence made Chloe even more irritated.
"Oh? Now you can't talk? No comebacks?" Chloe stepped closer, lowering her voice. "Don't worry. When that dress comes out and they say the price out loud, I'll be here. I'll be right here to remind you of this moment."
