In the apartment...
Greyson walked into the room, carrying a flower and a black paper bag, smiling as he saw Alexis standing with her back to him near the window.
"Baby..."
He bit his lower lip, then approached his mistress and hugged her from behind.
"I miss you so much," he whispered.
Alexis remained silent, lowering her gaze to the flower and paper bag in Greyson's hand, while her own hand tightly gripped a pregnancy test.
"Are you mad at me?" Greyson asked, resting his chin on Alexis's shoulder. "Sorry I'm late coming back, there were a lot of things I had to handle..."
"Is it about your wife?" she asked.
"Um... Not always about her."
"But it is about her, right?"
"Yeah... Exactly..." He lifted his chin from her shoulder and sighed as she turned to face him. "I can explain..."
"I don't need to hear it..." Alexis stopped Greyson, then patted his chest and left the pregnancy test there.
Greyson frowned, letting Alexis walk away while his eyes remained fixed on the test that had fallen to the floor. He quickly picked it up, examined it, and saw the two red lines—positive. His heartbeat quickened as he turned to look at her.
"You're making things even more complicated," Alexis said, sitting on the sofa with her arms crossed, looking at Greyson, who seemed shocked. "I'm pregnant while you haven't even divorced your wife yet... Now I don't know what to do..." She sighed and turned her face away.
Greyson bit his lower lip, then slowly approached Alexis and placed the flower and paper bag on the table. He sat beside her and stared at the pregnancy test before smiling.
"This doesn't make things harder. I've never felt like this was difficult," he said before turning to her. "I'm happy... You're making me a father... For the first time," he continued.
Alexis immediately turned to Greyson, frowning.
"What?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. "Did you think I'd be upset?"
"I..."
"Honey, I'm happy..." Greyson took Alexis's hand and held it, gazing into her eyes. "This is the best moment of my life. The woman I love is carrying my child..."
"But..." Alexis suddenly felt nervous.
"What?"
"But you haven't divorced your wife," Alexis murmured, frowning. "I don't think this is a good thing... I'm carrying your baby, but you're still someone else's husband. What will I say when people see me pregnant and... Of course, they'll question who the father is..."
"I know..." Greyson stopped Alexis.
"I can't just say that you're the father because you still have a wife, but I also don't want to keep hiding it..." Alexis swallowed hard and looked down. "I'm not trying to pressure you into divorcing her immediately. I thought my silence all this time was enough for you to focus on ending your marriage. But you've done nothing to show any progress..."
She turned back to him. "If I weren't pregnant, maybe I could stay silent until you were truly ready to end your relationship. But now, things are different... I'm pregnant... I don't know what my father will say when he finds out I'm pregnant before marriage... It's forbidden in our family... It's..."
"Shhh..." Greyson placed his index finger on Alexis's lips. "You don't need to worry about that."
She froze.
"For now, I want you to keep your pregnancy a secret, and when you can't hide it anymore, by then, I'll make sure I'm no longer with my wife," Greyson said, his eyes intense.
"What guarantee do I have to trust you?" she asked.
He sighed.
"It's hard, isn't it? You can't handle this, can you?" she guessed, then gave a faint smile. "Even though you can't divorce her, I know it's difficult... Maybe you're stuck, or..."
"Honey..." He stopped her, shaking his head. "This isn't something difficult..."
"I don't know!" she snapped, standing up and pulling her hand from his grip. "I never know, and I can never give you a solution because you never tell me the details of your problems!" she emphasized.
He remained silent, looking down.
"I know I have no right to demand that you tell me everything. That feeling always lingers because you're a man I respect. You're the man who helped me escape my problems... But..." Alexis sighed and caressed her still-flat stomach. "What we have isn't just an affair or a casual relationship... We have a future together... I'm placing my hopes in you, and... I need to make sure we are open with each other, that we trust each other... I'm not just your mistress... I'm going to be the mother of your child. I am an important woman in your life. If that's true and you agree, you have to be open with me no matter what!" she explained, slightly nervous, looking at him with frustration.
"Alexis..." Greyson took her hand and gently stroked it with his thumb, gazing into her eyes. "Thank you for understanding me, for giving me time... I never meant to make you wait or keep things from you... It's just that..."
He hesitated, then bit his lower lip.
"What?" she whispered.
"Clara has health issues after her boyfriend's death. That's why I can't leave her," Greyson explained—a complete lie, because in reality, Clara was pregnant and wanted him to be the father to protect herself from her father's wrath. "She... She is very shaken... She feels lost... And I... I have to be by her side to get her through this... To make sure she's safe and her family doesn't punish her," he continued.
"Punish her?"
"Yes..." He nodded, sighing. "Her family already knows about her behavior towards me, and they're very angry and ashamed. They think I don't deserve to be treated that way..."
"Yeah, you don't deserve that..."
"That's why I have to stay by her side to assure them that I'm okay with how she treated me... So they won't be mad at her," Greyson explained further.
Alexis swallowed hard, looking at Greyson's handsome face with sadness.
"If that's the reason, maybe I can't protest," she whispered, shaking her head. "But if you keep this up, what about our future? I know you care about her... But what about me? Our child? There are so many things I have to go through... And I don't think I can do it alone..."
"Of course, you won't be alone.... You have me," He stopped her, then kissed the back of her hand. "Don't worry... I'll find a way. Maybe I've been too slow in handling this, but now I need to be fast... For our baby." He smiled.
Alexis couldn't hold back her smile, and Greyson's warm gaze seemed to melt her heart. She stroked his jaw up to his cheek while looking deep into his eyes, imagining how her life would be if she didn't have the patience to wait for him to resolve his issues.
"You know, I really wanted to be mad at you today," she whispered. "But now I realize, anger would only make things worse... Maybe I just need to wait a little longer..."
"Yes..." He nodded. "I won't make you wait too long." He caressed her cheek, then leaned in until their lips met.
She closed her eyes, slowly leaning against the sofa, returning the kiss so tenderly, letting him caress her thighs to raise her skirt.
"Can i?" He asked.
"Do you care if I refuse?" She asked back.
He smiled shyly. "I didn't really care, but now I know there's something we have to take care of ..."
"The baby.."
"Hmm ..."
"The baby will be happy if the father makes the mother happy," Alexis whispered, then stroked Greyson's cheek. "And you know... I'm always happy with your touch..."
"Alright then ..." He immediately kissed her lips aggressively, while his hands moved to caress her breasts impatiently.
"Umm, ahh..." She stuttered, but slowly tried to keep up with him until he lifted her to sit on his lap, kissing her again so wildly.
