Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Purple Cloud Descends

Mu Can closed his eyes in agony, unwilling to watch the Mu Family members around him preparing to attack.

"Little boy, don't be like this, it hurts me to see you in such pain."

Purple Cloud, seeing Mu Can's current state, anxiously spoke through the Reincarnation Pearl.

"I'm fine, it just hurts a bit," Mu Can said.

Even though he had prepared himself to confront his own clan, when it came time to stand against his own people,

Mu Can realized he simply couldn't bring himself to strike at his kin.

"It's all your fault, Mu Zili, you should die." Mu Can suddenly opened his eyes...

The crowd of Mu Family members surrounding Mu Can was startled by his sudden action, and they all took a step back.

"How about it, nephew, are you satisfied with your uncle's arrangements? If not, no worries, there is better yet to come."

Upon seeing Mu Can's painful expression, Mu Zili was filled with pleasure.

In fact, Mu Zili's heart was full of jealousy towards his junior, Mu Can. Why was it that despite his own hard work, he was still not as good as a junior?

Why was it that the one prophesied by Heaven's secrets was Mu Can, and not himself, or Mu Xing, or Mu Chen?

So when the opportunity presented itself before Mu Zili, with just a slight hesitation, he immediately chose to sacrifice his soul in exchange for the capital to grow more powerful.

"You deserve to die," Mu Can said, his eyes red as he stared at Mu Zili, who was at the back of the crowd.

He had thought about sparing Mu Zili's life after defeating him.

But now, Mu Can only wanted to kill this treacherous and venomous snake right before his eyes.

"Why not die obediently? Why choose to come back? You and your father are both plagues upon the Mu Family. Your father brought disaster to the Mu Family by taking your mother, and you were born to further trouble us."

Seemingly recalling something, the usually refined Mu Zili howled in pain, like a wild beast that had lost its sanity.

"How dare you insult my father and mother."

Mu Can's father, Mu Ziang, cared for Mu Can far more than most fathers because Mu Can had never seen his mother since he was young.

It was Mu Ziang, the rough man, who fulfilled the roles of both father and mother, raising him by himself.

Just when Mu Can saw a glimmer of hope, he lost his cultivation.

For the sake of his son, Mu Ziang never considered his own safety, risking danger by entering forbidden lands just to find a way to restore Mu Can's cultivation.

"What are you all waiting for? Go on and attack," Mu Zili yelled out in a frenzy.

The Mu Family crowd looked at Mu Can, whose eyes were red, and then at the crazed Mu Zili.

They gritted their teeth and took a few steps forward.

When Mu Can saw that the crowd really intended to lay hands on him,

He took a step forward, raised his head, and looked from left to right at the Mu Family members surrounding him.

With a hoarse voice, he said,

"This is a personal grudge between me and Mu Zili. It has nothing to do with you. Do you really want to attack me?"

Seeing Mu Can's expressionless face, some people began to slowly step back. Others hesitated and struggled.

Most of those who could be here were the main pillars of the Mu Family.

Besides those Elders guarding important places and people close to Mu Can's lineage,

Nearly all Mu Family members with some strength had been gathered here by Mu Zili.

"Kill him, and I'll grant your offspring the opportunity to enter the Secret Land," Mu Zili shouted loudly when he noticed the hesitance in people's eyes.

Upon hearing Mu Zili's words, the once indecisive crowd's eyes revealed renewed determination.

The Secret Land of the Mu Family was a place tightly controlled by the direct lineage, the most important spot within the Mu Family.

Entering the Mu Family's Secret Land was something that every member of the Mu Family dreamt of.

Compared to that, a once outstanding descendant of the Mu Family can be sacrificed.

"Little Can, I'm sorry," said an elderly man who appeared to be in his fifties.

"For my grandson, please bear with me."

These words seemed to ignite the crowd of the Mu Family surrounding Mu Can.

The battle was on the verge of breaking out, with everyone frantically attacking Mu Can.

Yet Mu Can was relying solely on his movement technique to continuously dodge people's assaults.

When the first fist landed on Mu Can's back, he suddenly turned his head, only to see a face that seemed all too familiar.

Mu Can was just a small child back then, enjoying his happy and joyful childhood in the Mu Family.

"Slow down, don't fall," an elderly man gently steadied Mu Can who nearly tumbled to the ground.

That was a kind and loving old man.

That face and the one now overlapped slowly.

The old man was still the same person; he had simply aged.

"Why?" Mu Can murmured, still in disbelief that the kind elderly man who had looked after him could strike against him.

"Why?" Tears streamed down his cheeks as Mu Can whispered the question.

"For my grandson," the old man's face showed no expression, his calmness was chillingly unnerving.

"Ah! Aren't we all members of the Mu Family, or am I not one of you anymore?"

Mu Can howled to the sky, shouting loudly like a lone wolf alienated from its pack, only able to howl in pain.

The onlookers could only feel an overwhelming sorrow.

"Big brother Can," the chubby kid's eyes watered, and he burst into tears.

"Is there any way to repel these people?" Mu Can asked Purple Cloud.

"I'm the only one who can help you now, but are you sure you want me to take action? Just this once," Purple Cloud said, somewhat unwillingly seeing the pain Mu Can was suffering.

"I can wound them, but I can't incapacitate them. Mu Zili is my enemy; I don't want to harm my own kin," Mu Can firmly stated.

"Alright then, relax your body and hand over the control of your body to me. I'll leave your sensory abilities intact. You can talk but won't be able to control your body," Purple Cloud decided to take matters into her own hands upon seeing Mu Can's insistence.

She had long found Mu Zili's pretense to be distasteful, and now was the perfect opportunity to teach him a lesson firsthand.

To everyone's astonishment, Mu Can began to slowly close his eyes at such a crucial moment.

"Seeking death," Mu Chen muttered under his breath from a distance, grinding his teeth.

Today's wedding was completely ruined by Mu Can, and he had become a colossal joke.

This joke could be cleansed only with the fresh blood of Mu Can.

"What are you waiting for? Attack!" Mu Zili immediately urged when he saw Mu Can close his eyes under such circumstances.

Just as everyone planned to approach and swarm him, they found Mu Can suddenly opened his eyes.

An imposing aura began to rise. A flash of golden light streaked across Mu Can's opened eyes.

Although he stood frozen on the spot, nobody dared to take a step closer.

"Scram." Mu Can cursed coldly.

Once the word "scram" was uttered, all the members of the Mu Family around Mu Can felt an invisible force pushing them.

Regardless of their strength, without exception, they were all thrust over ten meters away from Mu Can.

As if there was an invisible wall, they simply could not get any closer to Mu Can.

Immortal Realm Supreme Purple Cloud, for the first time, revealed herself to the public, albeit hidden within Mu Can's body.

But now, the Immortal Realm Supreme had arrived.
