Waking up early in the morning Maxwell and Aira got out of bed and started to get ready for their day.
"Dear you're coming by the Sect today and Arian is coming over to teach the kids right?"
Maxwell asked while brushing his teeth in the bathroom.
"Yes… ugh i don't wanna go honey! I want to stay with the kids all day everyday!"
Aira was standing in front of the mirror in their room, straightening out her robes and fixing up her hair with a reluctant look on her face.
"It's just one day.. and you haven't been back since before giving birth honey."
"I know but it's like a dream, i'm afraid that if i take my eyes off them they'll disappear. Those elders and disciples are just going to be asking me about them all day and will make my longing for them grow even more."
Walking out of the bathroom and into their main room Maxwell dressed in his white and black robes with azure blue, accents and dragons embroidered, walked up behind Aira, circled his arms around her waist and put his chin on her shoulder.
"It's just one day dear, your sister will keep a close eye on them and teach them what they need to know. Plus your sister is a very good teacher so i'm sure they'll pick it up fast. No need to stress yourself out just focus on getting your tasks done and we'll be home before you know it."
He gave her a kiss on the cheek and hugged her a bit tighter before letting go and walking over towards the door before turning around to her.
"I'll meet you in the dining room, go wake up the kids and make the most of it before we have to leave okay? Also will Arian be joining us for breakfast?"
"Yeah she should be arriving soon. I'll meet you down there in a few."
Finishing with her hair and very light makeup, she looked over her appearance in the mirror again. She had a white and black robe with azure accents on like her husband. Her black hair was up in a bun held by a gold and azure blue buyao hair pin with a few strands of hair hanging loose.
Her appearance gave her a mature yet youthful presence. She smiled at her self in the mirror then moved across the room to the door to go to the room next door to wake the kids up for breakfast.
Quietly opening the door to the twins room she saw them still asleep in bed. They where sleeping with both of their heads resting on one pillow, hand in hand and their foreheads against one another. The view made her day as she stood there for a few minutes admiring her babies.
Slowly approaching Atlas's side of the bed she gently shook him awake.
"Wake up little man, time to get your day started."
"Little bit more.."
He answered in a half asleep groggy voice. This caused her to smile ans whisper into his ear
"Better wake up before the tickle and kisses monster attacks.."
Atlas's eyes shot open and looked around the room then focused his vision on Aira.
"Not funny momma"
He said with a huff. He looked over to the still sleeping Altair and freed one of his hands and put it on her shoulder.
"Sister it's time to wake up"
He gently tryed to shake her awake but she just snuggled in closer. With a smirk on his face he leaned in and whispered into her ear
"Tair… Tair the tickle monster is here for us, you half to wake up!"
This started her awake, putting her into full panic mode and quickly jumped into Atlas embrace then started to settle down and look around the room. Noticing that it was just her, him and their mother in the room she looked at Atlas and said
"Atty there's no monster here.. Mommy's not a monster!"
She got very defensive about her brother calling their mother a monster and gave him a smack on the arm. This caused Aira to chuckle while Atlas got red faced from embarrassment because he used his mother's wake up called and got reprimanded by his sister for it.
"Good morning my sweet peas"
"Morning momma" "Good morning mommy"
Altair stood up on the bed and stretched her arms out to Aira. Aira picked her up and gave her a hug. Atlas pouted but Aira was soon to pick him up in her other arm.
Making her way to the door she asked
"How'd my babies sleep?"
"Good"
They both replied in unison. After debating for a second Atlas asked
"Momma do you ever dream about books?"
"What do you mean by that my little man?"
"Um like the books you read us?… never mind momma, I'm not sure exactly what i mean."
"Hmm okay if you know later you can always ask you Momma kay?"
He nodded. Walking to the door it opened by its self as a maid opened it for Aira. Walking past her she said
"Susan grab the kids clothes for the day and then set them outside the bathroom. I'm taking them there now to get cleaned and ready for the day."
With a bow and smile she replied
"Yes Ma'dam."
"Thank you Susan" "Thank you bye bye"
Both Atlas and Altair, with a little wave, said bye to the maid which made their mother and Susan smile at their kindness.
…
Walking out of the bathroom Aira got Atlas and Altair dressed in their robes. Atlas's robes where all black with teal accents that matched his eyes and Altairs where white with aqua colored accents. They both wore black pants, black socks and black waraji sandals made of fine and comfortable materials.
Leaving the bathroom hand in hand they made their way downstairs to the dining room to have breakfast. Closing in on the dining room they heard a woman speaking loudly with their father that made the twins grips on their mothers hand grow a bit tighter.
"Now now sweet peas, Aunties just excited to see you guys. She's been very busy the past 2 years and hasn't had much time to visit so do make sure to show her some love kay?"
"Yes momma" "Since mommy says so"
Both Atlas and Altair answered back with differing answers, Atlas being more easygoing and Altair agreeing hesitantly. Aira gave them a kiss on the forehead before entering the dining room.
Entering the dining room they saw Maxwell at his seat at the head of the table. Sitting to his right was a woman with long dark wavy alburn hair and bright purple eyes. She quickly stood up and made her way over to Aira. She was around 5'8'' and wore purple robes with black accents.
Arian leaned in and wrapped her arms around Aira giving her a big hug and said
"It's so good to see you Lil Sis! I've been so lonely and busy without you, you know?"
"Sorry Big Sis, been busy with my babies. We can talk about more matters later or over breakfast."
She replied with a bright smile on her face and pulled back from the hug. Arian looked at Atlas and Altair hiding behind their mothers legs.
"Come here you two, come give me a hug!"
With a little nudging from their mom they got picked up in Arians arms. They quickly got swarmed with kisses on their cheeks and being told how much she missed them. Which was met with giggles and light protests that caused Maxwell and Aira to start laughing.
After calming down they made their way to the long table to sit down to talk before being served breakfast. Arian moved back to her seat across from Aira while Atlas and Altair sat in their usual seats.
"Altair wanna sit by Auntie?"
Altair looked over to her brother then to her aunts hopeful expression then back to Atlas again. Aira answered for her
"They're still scared to be separated since that day."
"Did you ever find out why that happened or what caused it?"
Maxwell feeling excluded from the conversation answered for her shaking his head
"No, we're still not sure why they both collapsed clutching their chests. I just wanted to show Atlas the 3rd floors view of the mountains, river and forests while Aira was showing Altair the different flowers in the flower garden. After they where more than 70 yards away from each other they both collapsed but as soon as they where both back in the house they where fine."
"Hmm… have so that's as far away as they can get from each other..? Is it a twin thing?"
"We still aren't sure and don't want to put them through any test… Maybe when they're older we'll be able to find out but i'm afraid right now it'll be too much of a mental burden for them to worry about. I'm not too sure if it's a twin thing, after all twins are rare in this world."
Aira answered back while slowly running her hands through Atlas's hair. She continued
"They said that a chilling coldness spread out from their chest, it was hard for them to breathe and both of their heart beats started to slow."
Just then a knock was heard at the door and a few maids came in through the door with push carts full of food. Maxwell being one who likes to eat said
"We can talk about that another time, it's time to eat for now okay?"
