Elected Hurricane Stage 4. ETA 3 hours. 50 minutes.
Kate watched them leave, mostly her part was done. It was rather amazing to believe that she had managed to hold on and help her mother pretty well.
The first big mission was a complete success.
"We should be up there." Grumbled Button.
"I feel like mom will let us up." Said a hopeful Pompadour.
"No, even mom can't get you up there." Kate said, desperate to shut that horror show down.
"You telling me you can't talk your way up there?" Asked Button.
Kate swallowed. Defeat was being shoved down her gullet where there had once been victory's sweet richness a moment before. Why? And how?
"There's no point in trying but there's more fun to be had this side. Like with those boys." Kate said pointing.
The so called 'boys' were in their own universe. Laughing and joking together.
"You want us to walk up to them?" Button asked, incredulous.
Kate understood, there were butterflies in her own stomach just thinking about it. There was most definitely a sport tied to their existence. Her mind did its best to read and soccer was what came to mind. But by goodness were they tall!
But not basket ball. No, she was pretty sure it was soccer, likely from a coach with a very specific vision about using tall players. How much could she get away with in terms of guessing?
She instinctively hugged Griff, using him as a battering ram against the world.
The sisters stared at the boys then back at her. Their eyebrows rose at once. Their disbelief apparent as the sun.
Well, funny enough as long as their thoughts moved in one direction. Away from their parents, then it was a win. The safe bet would be to go back to their friends downstairs. But who would leave the VIP suite?
'Extroverted people. People's people, that's who Kate!' Screamed a voice in her head.
Kate was too boring. Griff was a baby. Those boys would do everything.
She wasn't supposed to be stuck. Because they had worried about such there had been contingencies, one in particular. But that was for emergencies.
It was an emergency!
"There's too many guys, not enough girls. Right?" Kate asked, problem solving.
The other girls didn't so much as speak, they just stared with raised brows. They were alarmingly good at being sceptical.
What could she do? What would mother do? Be explosive, be all over the place. But Mother had fought in a war. And all those people felt massive. So enormous! They were all a full head taller than them. Well, not the cousins. They never counted though, the only reason she thought about them was because there was always a worse case.
She could not get close like that, Kate could literally feel nausea at the very idea of it.
What about the beautiful men?
Well.
Actually, maybe.
But she didn't know who they were.
Wait. How much time was passing?
They were still looking at her in the exact same way, so there was a chance she had not lost her mind.
"So…." She drew it out, like she was really thinking. "What if we bring-"
She stopped as another group of good looking but younger boys appeared.
They intermingled with the group and moved on. Heading towards another door. Kate was already moving, getting a head start before turning.
"What if we even the ages?"
