Morana's Point Of View
I let out a slow breath, returning to the present. When my eyes refocused on Axel, he was staring at me, his jaw clenched. He knew exactly what I was talking about. I let a small, cold smile curl at my lips.
When Leon agreed to work with me, I had given him this case to investigate. "You know, I gave someone this case to dig into." I said casually
Axel stiffened.
"And you know what I found?" I leaned forward, my voice soft.
Nancy's boyfriend—you.
"You were one of the men who tried to kill me that night." Axel's fists clenched against the table, his knuckles turning white. I watched him, my gaze unwavering.
"Who's your accomplice?"
Silence. A tense, suffocating silence. Then, Axel did something stupid... He smirked.
"You really think I'm gonna tell you?" he sneered.
I smiled back.
"Oh, Axel." I leaned in just enough for my voice to drop to a whisper.
"I don't need you to tell me."
