Chapter 1 - Ep.1

Magic, a fantasy thought where a man could cast a tidal wave to flood the east coast. Every man woman and child had believed such things were purely fictional.

But none of them could have guessed what would happen in the year 2028 as the skies turned red.

Beasts from myth and fantasies came to life and with their appearance came a new Power for Humanity, Mana.

Every little boy's wildest dreams came to life but so too did the nightmares.

"Sir! A Rank 7 Fire Dragon has been discovered over the North Pole. The icecaps have already begun melting."

"If those icecaps melt then the coastal cities will flood! Gather all available hunters to intercept."

Just as the threats were growing so were the selected groups of people called Tower Climbers.

These people were given a mark to signify their legitimacy which also allowed them to climb the Trial Towers.

While inside the Trial Towers anything was possible. Become a Sage with a tome of infinite knowledge? Or perhaps become an evil magician hell bent on world domination? There was nothing simple about the Towers but it did lead everyone to ask two important questions.

Who made the Trial Towers and why?

This question was a Mystery to everyone… except one man named Jacob Hunter.

As a new Tower raised up into the sky Jacob held a stone in his hand with a symbol unfamiliar with most.

'Now to find a Host to bare the Brand to the Tower of Illusion.'

Jacob was given the role of creating the Towers to help evolve humanity to their highest form.

It was his only role as an anomaly because he was not from their world.

'There must be a way to hasten their evolution. The beast they are facing now are mere pawns.'

The being only known as the anomaly was looking down on a primitive world that was under siege by monsters sent by both Gods and Demons.

The Anomaly couldn't sit by and watch as a world he created fall to ruin and ash. But even being a celestial creature was bound by rules.

'My powers of creation and destruction are useless to aid human kind. There must be a way to help them… unless… of course…'

In order to aid the humans on Earth he must simply become a Human.

'I must forge the ultimate Vessel… it will take some time to recover my powers but it is a worthwhile endeavour to aid them. The others will notice my presence on earth once I begin my work.'

Few celestial's knew of the Anomaly's existence and they all feared him and his power.

After all it was from the Anomaly that they were born.

For too long has the Anomaly simply watched his creations destroy one another but no more.

'I shall imbue the essence of Creation and Destruction into this vessel but I will have to awaken it once more. And so we begin anew.'

And so the Anomaly was no more and so began the journey of Jacob Hunter.

Upon opening his eyes for the first time he found himself deep within a forest just outside a populated city called Golden Dragon.

'The transfer was successful… now to see how much of my power has been transferred as well.'

Jacob waved his hand and made the branches on a nearby trees break off and meld together to form a staff.

It was simple to do but it drained more energy then Jacob anticipated.

'To think that creating a simple staff nearly drained my energy to exhaustion… I'll need to grow my strength.'

But their was little time to rest as the tree Jacob used suddenly came to life.

"A Tree Spirit… how impressive to find such a creature here…"

Despite being at the brink of exhaustion Jacob remained calm as he used his staff to poke the body of the Tree Spirit and link their minds as one to see the being inside the Tree Spirit.

"What is your name? I would very much like to see you with my own eyes and hear your voice."

Jacob spoke to the being inside of the tree, a Forest Fairy.

One of the first creatures Jacob ever made as his time as the Anomaly.

"How did you know of my presence!? I have never been discovered before at all?! What are you!?"

"My name is Jacob Hunt and as for what I am? You wouldn't believe me if I told you. I am sorry to damaging your Spirit Familiar. I shall repair the damage."

With another wave of his hand Jacob regrew the branches he broke to create his staff.

This left the fairy shocked as it would have been impossible for her to repair her Familiar.

"How did you repair my familiar? That's not possible!"

Jacob felt his condition worsening by the second.

"I've used too much energy… I need to rest… do you have a Mana Pool nearby?"

The fairy instantly became defensive at the mention of a Mana Pool which Jacob had expected.

"How do you know the existence of Mana Pools? What are you planning? Who are you?"

Jacob didn't have the time or energy to answer the fairies questions but he still needed her help.

"I envoke the Will of Nature's Embrace, help me and I will be in your debt."

Jacob felt the fairies anxiousness grow but he couldn't understand the words she spoke next as everything faded to black.

Only after he opened his eyes again did he noticed he was on a bed of leaves with his staff as his side.

And on his chest was the same fairy from earlier as well as two others.

"Your awake, good. My friends have questions for you… my name is Mthara."

"I am in your debt Mthara, thank you."

Jacob sat up straight once the fairies flew onto a nearby rock and looked at the centre of the cave to a glowing puddle.

"It would seem I've soaked up too much of your Mana Pool… allow me to fix it."

Before anyone could do anything Jacob grabbed his staff and drew a rune in the dirt before connecting it to the pool.

"What have you done to our Pool! Wait… it's growing!? How?"

Jacob knew much more then any creature. So it was a simple task to refill the mana pool.

"Your Pool was cut off from its source so I reconnected it. Now what do you seek to know? I know more about your kind then you would like to believe."

Fairies were once apart of the Universe just like any other creature. But their Gift over the control of the Elements made them a threat to others.

So they were hunted to the brink of extinction.

"How do you know of our existence? How do you know about Mana Pools?"

The answer was simple to give but it still shook the fairies to their core.

"Just like you I am attuned to see the Ethereal Realm but unlike you all… I can still reach its boundaries."

"Impossible! The Ethereal Realm was destroyed by the Creator!"

In truth their creator, the Anomaly, just Sealed the Ethereal Realm off from everyone… except for the Anomaly himself.

The Ethereal Realm was a library to put it simply only it housed the collective knowledge of Everything and everyone.

"Wrong… it was Sealed away for its safety. Only I can reach it. Let me show you."

*SNAP!*

With a simple snap Jacob filled the cave with enchanted Books about the fairy folk.

"It's true… you… you can reach the Ethereal Realm! How?"

"A time will come when we will meet again and only then will I explain everything. Here is a parting gift for your help in my recovery."

Jacob gave them several books to aid them and drew several more runes in the cave walls.

"These runes will draw more of your people to you and they will keep your presence undetected from prying eyes."

The fairy folk were few in number but they were still strong.

They would be needed when the time arrives but for the moment they needed to be hidden.

But there was much work to be done so Jaboc couldn't stay in the sanctuary of the Fairy Folk.

"Until we meet again… goodbye…"

Jacob weaved together a cloak to cover his body and a mask to conceal his face.

After leaving the cave deep in the mountains Jacob made his way to the nearby city he saw.

"Time to begin my work… I can only hope that the Humans of this age will be able to pass the first Trial."
