After Rose's words, Sandra can't shake off the unease setting in her chest. "You will understand when it happens to you." the sentence replays in her mind like an echo, growing at her thoughts even as she walks back to class.
For the first time, Sandra imagines seeing Selene in someone else's arms. Would it be like what Rose felt? That gut Wrenching pain? The sense of betrayal, even if it wasn't real? The very thought makes her heart clench painfully.
She doesn't want that, she doesn't want to be in Rose's position. She doesn't want to feel ache of watching someone else hold the person she loves. And more than anything she doesn't want to lose Selene.
The idea of losing Selene is unbearable, an impossibility she refuses to accept. But then another terrifying thought enters her mind. "What if it happens to me? What if Selene ever feels what Rose felt?" Sandra grips the edge of the desk tightly, her fingers trembling.....
That evening, when Selene entered Sandra's room she immediately pulled Selene into a tight hug, burying her face in Selene's shoulder. Selene was shocked and also a small little smile appeared on her lips.
She softly wrapped her arms around Sandra and asked, "What's with you today?" but Sandra doesn't answer right away, Instead, she holds Selene closer breathing in her scent. "Nothing I just missed you."
Her voice is quieter than usual Selene tilts her head, looking at Sandra face. "You're acting strange." Sandra forces a small smirk "I can't hug my girlfriend?...." Selene feels very happy that Sandra called her as her Girlfriend...
Selene smiles, "You can but you are never this clingy." Sandra doesn't let go. If anything she holds Selene even tighter. She doesn't want to risk anything. She doesn't want to ever give Selene a reason to feel insecure.
So over the next few days, Sandra changes she starts paying extra attention to Selene... She makes sure to always be by her side. She texts her more often, Just to check in. She holds her hand more in public, not caring about who's watching.
If any girl or guy gets too close to her Sandra immediately pulls Selene closer..... Selene also notices all the behaviour of Sandra that why she suddenly taking a extra care for her.
One evening, when they both are walking on the backyard. Selene suddenly stops and looks at Sandra, "Okay, what going on with you?"
Sandra blinks "What do you mean?" Selene folds her arms, "You have been acting wierd all week you never let me out of your sight, You hold me tighter than usual, and don't think I didn't notice how you glare at anyone who talks to me."
Sandra stiffens "I'm just making sure you're okay" Selene's eyes soften but she still curious about Sandra's behaviour. "Sandra... did something happen?" Sandra hesitates she doesn't want to tell Selene about her fear.
(Also Sandra doesn't want to admit that she is Scared.... Scared of losing her, Scared of ever making Selene feel unwanted or hurt.) So instead, she simply cups Selene's face, pressing a soft kiss on her forehead.
"I LOVE YOU SELENE...." Sandra said with a charming smile and Selene also loved to hear those words from Sandra. But also Selene is curious about Sandra and why she is acting very strange recently.... Sandra exhales slowly trying to calm the storm in her chest____
