Chapter 245 - Chapter 244: Finals

"Boss, is everything okay?" At nine o'clock in the morning, Jiang Hai stepped out of the police station. Outside, Enol Ceci had been waiting for him for quite some time.

"No problem. What about the game?" Jiang Hai shook his head and responded to Enol Ceci.

"It's under control. Robbins and Bell have been keeping an eye on things. It's already been sent to the official slaughterhouse, so it's unlikely the other party will take any action." Enol Ceci replied seriously.

After Jiang Hai made the call, the three of them rushed to the cowshed. Once they confirmed that both Jiang Hai and the cows were unharmed, they breathed a sigh of relief. Jiang Hai was then taken to the police station to provide a statement. Despite having evidence, the process still had to be followed. After all, he had beaten up five people rather badly.

As for the three of them, Jiang Hai asked them to stay behind and keep watch over the cows. The most important thing was to make sure nothing happened to them. Remember, the reason Jiang Hai and his team were here was not just to take a leisurely walk but to promote the manor. Yes, someone had invaded his cowshed, and the organizer had to be held accountable. The security company was the most responsible party, and that was unavoidable. If Jiang Hai wanted, he could even have them claim compensation, but the payout would likely be a mere one or two hundred thousand, along with a refund for the money he paid. That would be the extent of it.

To Jiang Hai, however, there was little difference between one million and two million, as long as the cows were safe.

"Let's go quickly then." Hearing Enol Ceci's words, Jiang Hai gave him a pat and said, heading towards the car.

Just as they were about to leave, a group of people hurried towards them. The leader was the head of the security team, accompanied by several people in suits.

"Mr. Jiang Hai, please wait a moment. I'm the person in charge of security for this exhibition. Could we have a word?" The overweight man said, his tone sincere.

Jiang Hai was furious. If his cow had been harmed, he would have sued the company into bankruptcy. But even though nothing happened, he had no good feelings towards the security company.

However, on the way here, Moses Adams had explained that the exhibition was organized by a different party, but the security contract had been sold to this company. So, even though something happened, it was the company's responsibility, not the organizer's. Moreover, since nothing serious occurred—Jiang Hai and the cows were unharmed—the security company would have to take responsibility, though the consequences wouldn't be too severe.

At most, the issue would be privately settled with some monetary compensation. Of course, Jiang Hai could also choose to sue them. But with the company only worth around a million dollars, even if he won the lawsuit, there would be no significant financial gain.

If this were an ordinary American, he might have to consider other options, but Jiang Hai was different. Chinese people value face above all else, and He wouldn't let this company off easily.

However, Jiang Hai still needed to discuss the situation with Moses Adams, and he didn't have the time to deal with these people right now.

"Talk to my lawyer." Jiang Hai said coldly before turning to Enol Ceci and heading for the car.

In the car, Jiang Hai called Robbins and learned that the cattle had already been slaughtered. The skin had been peeled off and sent to them, while the beef had been sealed and returned to the exhibition hall along with the staff.

Upon hearing this, Jiang Hai immediately drove to the exhibition hall.

When they arrived, the exhibition hall was already showcasing the beef of the day.

Today's display wasn't about yesterday's rankings. It was mainly focused on the companies. Since Jiang Hai's manor had been attacked last night, the organizer made sure to transport his two cows to the slaughterhouse. Although the results weren't officially announced, it was no secret. The cows were slaughtered together, and due to timing issues, Jiang Hai's cows were scheduled to appear last, with the other four companies going first.

The first to present was Carlett Company's Belgian Blue cow. The Belgian Blue is a muscular breed, but as mentioned before, the fat distribution in muscle cows is not ideal. While the cow looked impressive, its taste might not be as good. After being slaughtered, it was sent to the front for judging, where it scored a 8.2. This score suggested that the judges weren't particularly impressed. Anything above 8.5 would indicate a strong preference, but Carlett Company didn't mind too much. The cow had originally been intended for fame, and its mission was complete.

Following Carlett Company, the Angus cow from Truman Company and the Charolais cow from Bavetta Company were presented. Truman's Angus cow scored 8.8, with a meat yield of 64%. While the eye meat and upper brain had some marbling, the patterns weren't excellent—only about 0.5% of the meat was classified as premium A-grade. The cow weighed 750 kg, yielding 480 kg of meat in total, with 2.5 kg of premium A-grade, 37 kg of selected grade, and 274 kg of preferred grade beef. The rest was standard and commercial grade. Such cattle were typically used for breeding in regular manors, though at this exhibition, they were unlikely to even break into the top three.

Bavetta's Charolais cattle also produced premium beef, but the cow, although larger than the Angus, only yielded 1.7 kg of premium beef. This resulted in a score of 8.5—the lowest score for a king-level cow.

After these two cows were presented, the next to appear was Suzuki Company's small Wagyu beef.

When this cow was brought forward, Jiang Hai and the others had also arrived at the exhibition hall.

"Hey, you guys actually showed up. I heard you were attacked last night. What happened?" Paul Kaye from Carlett approached with a smug expression.

"What does it matter to you? You'd better hope the guys you hired are tough enough. Otherwise, your company is finished." Jiang Hai replied, already knowing that these five men were likely connected to Carlett.

These men were persistent, though. They still acted as if they had nothing to fear, even when entering the police station.

In the United States, a country that values democracy and human rights, torture is not permitted in police stations. These men had criminal records longer than a notebook. Even if Jiang Hai pursued them, they would only serve one or two years in prison before being released. Given the severity of Jiang Hai's actions, they would spend several months in the hospital before being released. But for people who viewed prison as a second home, this was hardly an inconvenience.

Jiang Hai didn't have any connections in the underworld, so it was difficult to extract the truth from them.

"Stop talking nonsense, or I'll sue you for defamation." Roslin Carlett stepped forward, his face serious.

Jiang Hai snorted dismissively. "Hmph, what kind of person do you think I am? You're guilty, and I'm going to make things difficult for your company. What can your company do about it? Since you've chosen this path, we'll fight to the end. I hope you can handle it."

Just then, a cheer went up from the front desk, and a staff member came running back with news about the Wagyu.

Although it wasn't Suzuki's strongest cow, it was still impressive, especially for cattle raised in the island country. Wagyu cows come in several types depending on the region, such as Omi beef, Kobe beef, Tajima beef, Matsuzaka beef, Miyazaki beef, Saga beef, and Yonezawa beef. The most famous is Tajima beef.

This particular Wagyu weighed 940 kg and yielded 31.5 kg of premium grade beef, which stunned many people. This was an extremely high yield. The most important part was that this wasn't even Suzuki's strongest cow. The top Wagyu hadn't been showcased yet. When this news spread backstage, the Japanese team, who had been staying in the corner and acting humble, couldn't help but lift their heads. Although Jiang Hai wasn't particularly fond of the island nation, he had to admit that Wagyu was a strong breed.

For the past few days, Suzuki Company had been rather low-key, always nodding and greeting people. Even when Carlett Company was putting on airs, Suzuki's team would approach Jiang Hai and greet him with respect.

No matter what their true thoughts were, they were at least showing a level of courtesy that others couldn't fault them for.
