Adeline, still curious about everything that had happened, found herself chatting with Vincent, bombarding him with questions about how she had been turned and what exactly had happened to her body.

"Well, you nearly died. And Enzo had to transform you by biting and mixing his blood with yours," Vincent explained.
"That's it?" Her fingers absentmindedly grazed over the spot on her neck. It had closed and left a small mark that would soon fade, just like the bullet wound. "That's it?"
"Pretty much," Vincent shrugged.
As they conversed, Enzo's attention was drawn to something, and he raised his hand, tenderly capturing her chin between his fingers.
