[Mini Story : Chip and the food]
No one's POV
These events take place before the "Shadow The Hedgehog 2005" arc.
Sonic and Chip were secretly living in Fairy Hills. It was Sonic's idea because he didn't want to be far from Wendy, so he took care of the dorm's chores. Today, he woke up, did the cleaning, and realized Chip wasn't up yet. He went back to their room (the attic of the dorm).
Sonic (annoyed): Hey Chip, I'm not doing all the cleaning! Get up before the girls notice us!
Chip was still asleep.
Sonic: Oh, you don't want to wake up? I'll wake you up then!
Sonic poured a glass of water on Chip. Chip felt the water, licked it as it ran down, and went back to snoring.
Sonic: Oh, so you wanna play that game, huh?
Sonic grabbed him and threw him against the wall. Chip fell back down and continued snoring.
Sonic: What kind of sleep is this?!
Sonic left and went down to the kitchen to prepare breakfast.
Sonic: If he doesn't wake up, that's his problem!
Sonic opened the cereal box and poured some into a bowl. At the same moment, Chip opened his eyes upstairs. Sonic emptied the cereal box.
Sonic: Oh, it's empty now. Serves him right—next time he'll wake up faster. Alright, I need milk.
Sonic headed to the fridge, opened it, and grabbed the milk. When he closed the fridge door, he saw Chip standing behind it.
Sonic (startled): KYA!
Chip (laughing): What was that girly scream?
Sonic: What girly scream? I don't know what you're talking about.
Chip: Yes, it was you!
Sonic: I really don't know what you're talking about!
Chip (handing over his camera): I recorded you. Look—it's you!
Sonic (watching the video of himself screaming): Okay, that's me... that's definitely me... but that's not me.
Chip: Yeah, right—thanks, by the way!
Sonic: Thanks for what?
Chip (eating Sonic's cereal): For the cereal!
Sonic (annoyed): Are you serious?! You're eating my cereal now?!
They stared at each other for a moment.
Chip: Yes.
Sonic: You know what? Fine. Eat your cereal, drink your milk. I'm outta here. You'll be the one finishing the cleaning. And you better hurry—the girls will wake up soon.
Sonic left. A few hours later, he returned and saw Chip sitting on Wendy's head, who was in the lounge with Carla.
Sonic: Hey!
Chip: Wait!
Sonic: What?
Chip: Did you go eat without me?!
Sonic: Huh?
Chip: Did you go eat without me?
Sonic: What do you mean, eat without you? Do I always have to eat with you? What are we, married?!
Chip walked up to Sonic and picked a crumb off his right cheek and tasted it.
Chip: Three chili dogs with extra ketchup, served with salty fries and a 'Chaos Soda'—7% sugar…
Sonic (shocked): How...?
Chip (interrupting): Shh! After going to the bathroom, you had a 4-meat taco with extra mustard and mayo, this time with a Chaos Soda Lite paid with a free coupon from Erza. You sat in the third seat by the restaurant window at 8Island. As usual, you ogled the waitresses and asked for coffee just to peek under their skirts when they bent down to get the coffee pot.
Sonic (shocked): How do you know all that?!
Chip: Look, food is 98% of my life. It's not cool to eat without me.
Wendy (with a dark aura): So you peek at the waitresses, huh?
Sonic shivered.
Carla: Wendy, calm down! He didn't do that... right?
(looking darkly at Sonic)
Sonic (panicking): Oh yeah, yeah! Don't worry!

No one's POV
It was nighttime on Mobius, the sun was about to rise. A fleet of ships approached the planet—about fifty of them. It was Dr. Eggman's army, ready to launch a major invasion.
He was just a few meters from the planet when something crashed into the main ship—Sonic and Chip!
They stopped, facing a group of robots. Eggman spotted them.
Dr. Eggman: Just the intruder I was looking for. FIRE!
His cannons opened fire on Sonic, who dodged and charged toward Eggman's location, taking down several robots with his Homing Attack. He flew up into the air and landed in front of a large blue robot, dodged it, spun around it, and continued his assault with punches.
Eggman landed in front of him with a large red robot equipped with machine guns. It fired at Sonic, but Chip grabbed him and flew them away from the bullets.
Dr. Eggman:
"You won't escape me!"
The robot extended its hand, catching Sonic and Chip and bringing them back. Sonic smiled, closed his eyes, and suddenly the seven Chaos Emeralds appeared around him.
Dr. Eggman (surprised):
"What?!"
He tried to crush Sonic with another hand, but a golden explosion destroyed the robot's arms—Sonic had transformed into Super Sonic. He pierced the robot's core, forcing Eggman to eject and flee. Sonic grabbed Chip and chased him, smashing through doors and destroying nearby ships.
He caught up to Eggman, who crashed into a base.
Dr. Eggman (scared):
"S-Sonic?! P-please forgive me! I won't do it again! Just give me a second chance!"
Super Sonic:
"Wow, that's new. Showing Remorse, Eggman? If you'd apologized sooner, we wouldn't have had to destroy all your toys."
Dr. Eggman (smiling, pressing a detonator):
"Gotcha!"
Magnets surrounded Sonic and Chip, trapping them. A white ring held them in place as lasers fired, making them scream in pain. Sonic lost his Super form.
Dr. Eggman:
"Finally, the long-awaited day has come. Let the ten demonic gates open!"
He activated a giant cannon outside the base which fired at Mobius, causing massive destruction. The Chaos Emeralds dimmed, the ground cracked open, and a transparent beast emerged. Sonic's body changed—his gloves tore, revealing claws, and his fangs grew. He howled as he transformed into his werehog form. The beast howled too before vanishing into dust. Eggman's machine shut down. Chip was unconscious, Sonic panting.
Dr. Eggman:
"Hohohoho! Just like the Gaia manuscripts said. The seal is lifted—Dark Gaia and END will rise again."
Sonic:
"You... actually pulled it off this time, Eggman."
Dr. Eggman:
"Oh Sonic, I love your new look—festive! Goodbye, my friend."
He launched Sonic, Chip, and the Emeralds out of the ship. Sonic crashed on an unknown island. His head stuck in the ground, he pulled himself out and saw the Emeralds and unconscious Chip.
Sonic (picking Chip up upside down):
"Hey Chip, wake up!"
Chip:
"No... I can't eat another bite..."
Sonic (shaking Chip):
"Get a grip, Chip!"
Chip opened his eyes, saw Sonic, panicked, and hid behind a rock.
Chip (scared):
"AAH! Don't eat me! I don't taste good!"
Sonic:
"You okay? Nothing broken?"
Chip (walking back):
"Oh, I'm fine. Thanks for asking, Mr. Monster Guy."
Sonic:
"Mr. Monster Guy? Why does this feel like Edolas all over again?"
Chip:
"Edolas?"
Sonic:
"Don't tell me... you forgot who you are again?!"
Chip:
"Who I am? Wait—who am I? What's my name?! I don't know! I can't remember!"
Sonic (facepalming):
"What did I do to deserve this?"
Chip:
"By the way, who are you?"
Sonic:
"Let's reintroduce ourselves. I'm Sonic, and you're Chip!"
Chip:
"Chip?"
Sonic:
"That's the name I gave you—otherwise you're called Light Gaia... wait a sec—Gaia? Of course! Eggman mentioned Gaia earlier! He must've stolen your power, your memory, or something."
Chip (confused):
"Eggman? Gaia? I don't get it."
Sonic:
"You will soon. Let's go!"

[After Windmill Isle Act 1]
Sonic's POV
We arrived in a town called Apotos. A big city with white-painted houses—probably their national color. I think we're in Greece. I was tossing two Chaos Emeralds in my hand.
Me:
"I wonder what Eggman's up to. END? Gaia? And look at what he did to the Chaos Emeralds!"
Chip (noticing I'm back to normal):
"So this is what you usually look like?"
Me (striking a pose):
"Yep! This is the real me—pretty cool, huh?"
Suddenly he vanished.
Me:
"Huh? Where did he go?"
Chip was drooling over an ice cream stand, watching the vendor decorate a cone.
Vendor:
"Looks tasty, doesn't it? The whole town would fight to get one!"
Me (yelling to get Chip's attention):
"Hey, what about your memory?!"
He didn't hear me. I sighed, realizing he wouldn't listen until I gave him ice cream. After buying two cones, we walked again, and my tablet rang. It was a video call from Wendy.
Wendy (worried):
"Where are you?! I didn't see you this morning—I thought you were spying on Lucy's bath!"
Lucy (shocked):
"Wait, what?!"
Me:
"A simple 'Good morning, love' would've sufficed."
Wendy:
"Sorry, but where are you?"
Me:
"We stopped an Eggman invasion, but he unleashed some kind of demon or something, so we're handling that now."
Carla:
"Why did you leave without us?"
Me:
"It was night, I didn't want to wake you."
Carla:
"But when it's about making love with Wendy, then you wake us in the middle of the night!"
Me (grinning):
"Are you jealous?"
Carla (flustered):
"What? Of course not!"
Me:
"Anyway, we won't be long—(noticing Lucy, Natsu vomiting, and Happy in a cart)—where are you going?"
Wendy:
"The master sent us to protect the former Magic Council members. They're being hunted by Tartaros."
Lucy:
"So we split into teams across Ishgar."
Me:
"Cool—at least you'll be busy while I'm gone. See ya!"
Wendy:
"Sonic, wait!"
Me:
"What?"
Wendy:
"Be careful!"
Me (smiling):
"You too!"
I hung up.
Chip:
"Who were those people?"
Me:
"I wonder if hitting you really hard would bring your memory back."
That night, I unwillingly took on my werehog form again as we explored the town. We came to an area filled with purple and green monsters, surrounding someone with long blue hair, a blue outfit, and a one-handed sword—it was Rimuru!


I punched the boss from afar using my stretchy arms. The minions charged me, but Rimuru slashed them before they reached me. I threw the big monster in the air and Rimuru shot a huge blue laser from his index finger, obliterating it.
Me:
"Yo Rimuru! What are you doing here?"
Rimuru:
"I should be asking you that. I came to research the planet's split and Gaia's monsters."
Me:
"Gaia again?"
Chip (offering chocolate):
"Want some chocolate?"
Rimuru:
"Uh, thanks."
As we left the town, I told him everything since my raid on Eggman's army.
Me:
"So now, we don't know where to go."
Rimuru:
"What a story! I'd guess your werehog form and Chip's memory loss are linked to Dark Gaia's awakening."
Me:
"Dark Gaia?"
Rimuru:
"The villain."
Me:
"Ah, got it."
Rimuru:
"I came looking for Gaia's manuscripts to bring back to Professor Pickle in Spagonia—he's the only one with old info left."
Chip:
"Professor?"
Rimuru:
"Yes, Professor Pickle from Spagonia University."
Me:
"Spagonia? That's in Argentina, right? How are we gonna get there with Mobius split like a jigsaw puzzle?"
Rimuru (pointing to his plane):
"Don't worry. We'll take the Tornado Mk2."
Me:
"Wait—the Tornado I know? Why Mk2?"
Rimuru:
"Yes, your Tornado—Mk2 because it's a restored model after you left it behind when you went to the island with Wendy and Chelia."
Me:
"Ah, I see. But couldn't we just use a portal ring?"
Rimuru (angrily):
"Do you want a plane ride or a kick in the butt that'll launch you straight to Earth?!"
Me and Chip:
"We'll take the plane!"
Rimuru:
"That's better."
We took off, and after a long flight we reached Spagonia the next morning—a modern city with narrow streets and colorful balloons in the sky.

Me:
"Even Magnolia can't beat this."
Rimuru:
"Nice citadel. Streets are so narrow only bikes and scooters get through."
Chip's stomach growled. He sat on my head.
Me:
"Let's find a place to eat before Chip dies."
Rimuru (laughing):
"Good idea."
We entered the first restaurant we found and sat at a table by the window.
??? : Hello, what can I get you today?
Rimuru: Oh hey Isabella, I'll have a glass of water...
Chip: Twelve plates of spaghetti...
I put my hand over his mouth.
Me (laughing): He's joking, he meant two plates of spaghetti.
Isabella: Alright, it'll be right out.
She left, and I removed my hand from Chip's mouth.
Chip: Why did you do that??
Me: You come into a restaurant and already want to empty out their stock? You think this is a family trip?
Rimuru coughed.
Me (looking at Rimuru): It would be a real family trip if your mother were here.
Rimuru: So you don't like spending time together? Even though fate allows us to see each other again after a few weeks?
Me: No, I do enjoy spending time together. It's like... uhhh, a father-son trip.
Rimuru: That must be it, yeah...
Rimuru was clearly annoyed, but he calmed down and said something I wasn't expecting.
Rimuru: So, when do you plan to give me your blessing?
I spit out the water I was drinking.
Me (shocked): Huh? What do you mean? What blessing???
Rimuru: For me to marry Kagura.
Me: Whoa whoa whoa, since when are you in a relationship, and which Kagura are we talking about?
Rimuru: For a while now, and I'm talking about Kagura Mikazuchi.
Me: The same Kagura from Mermaid Heel?
Rimuru: Yes.
Me: The one who almost killed Erza?
Rimuru: Yes.
Me: The one who can't hold her liquor?
Rimuru: Yes.
Me: The same Kagura who slept with Shadow five months ago?
Rimuru: Yes... wait WHAT?
Me: Rimuru, there are so many girls in the world—why Kagura?
Rimuru: Because I love her.
Me: Have you slept with her?
Rimuru: No.
Me: Then you don't love her.
Rimuru: Huh? I have to?
Me: Do you think I'm going to die without seeing my grandchildren?
Rimuru: Dad, she's not ready yet!
Me: Wendy wasn't ready either when we played UNO while she was stuck in a wall.
Rimuru: That's not the same thing.
Me: At least did you train?
Rimuru: Train for what?
I looked at him for a moment.
Rimuru: Oh okay, I get it now. No, I haven't.
Me: But Millianna's there for that.
Rimuru: Because you trained before sleeping with Wendy?
Me: Ever heard of Katja the Celestial Spirit Mage?
Rimuru: Right, doing it with her was like tasting Wendy's future. But Millianna's not like Kagura.
Me (raising an eyebrow): Alright, are you going to do it or should I do it for you?
Rimuru: Alright, you win. I'll train with Millianna.
Me (thumbs up): That's my boy!
After lunch, we arrived at Spagonia University. We entered an office and saw everything was trashed. We questioned one of the assistants who explained that Professor Pickle had been kidnapped.
Rimuru: What? The professor's been kidnapped???
Professor Pickle's assistant: That crazy doctor came with a bunch of robots. He took everything—manuscripts, lab data, everything.
Chip: If he's been kidnapped, we have to save him right away. He must be starving out there. If I were in his place, I wouldn't have lasted a day. Maybe death would've been kinder...
He fainted, and we saw only his spirit floating.
Rimuru (bringing Chip's spirit back to his body): I'm sure he's being treated well. No need to worry about that.
Me: Okay, then let's hurry and find the professor!
We returned to the city center.
Me: So if I were an egghead kidnapping a university professor, where would I go?
Rimuru: Somewhere with a low level of civilization?
Me: Yeah, probably. Like where, for example?
Rimuru: The only place I know on Mobius is Mazuri.
Chip: Then let's go!
Rimuru: This time we'll go faster!
He grabbed me by the waist, I had Chip in my hand, and dragon wings appeared behind Rimuru as he flew us into the sky.
Me (panicking): WHAT IS THIS NONSENSE, RIMURU?!?
Rimuru: We'll arrive at night, sure, but that's better than a two-day trip.
Me: SINCE WHEN DO YOU HAVE WINGS?!?
Rimuru: Oh don't worry, it's nothing important.
Night fell, and we landed in a savanna. I had taken my werehog form. In front of us was a large terracotta castle guarded by robots.

Me: Is this Eggman's base?
Rimuru: No, that's a tourist spot.
Chip: How do we get in there?
Rimuru: Stealthily—we don't want Eggman noticing us.
Rimuru opened a portal and stepped inside. We followed him in, and suddenly we were in a room where we saw Professor Pickle sitting behind glass, eating a sandwich.
Me and Chip: IT WAS THAT EASY???
Rimuru: I didn't feel like fighting tonight, so I sped things up.
Rimuru stood in front of the glass.
Professor Pickle: How can someone be so clueless not to put pickles in this sandwich? Plus, the bread's low quality, and the slices aren't even the same size. Am I wrong, Rimuru?
Rimuru: Uh... glad to see you're doing well.
He pulled a lever and freed the professor from his little prison.
Professor Pickle: Thank you so much, Rimuru. It's time I taught the chef how to cook.
He was about to head off in the opposite direction, but Rimuru stopped him.
Rimuru: We really don't have time for that, professor!
Me: Let's get out of here before Eggman's welcoming committee shows up.
Professor Pickle (pointing at a safe): Oh yes, good idea—but first we need to retrieve the manuscripts in that safe.
I stretched out my left fist and smashed the safe into pieces. Rimuru went inside and pulled out a single scroll of paper, which he handed to the professor.
Professor Pickle: Thank you so much. Without this, we'd be lost. Let's go, I haven't even had good food—just awful sandwiches.
Chip (offering chocolate): Want some chocolate?
Professor Pickle: Oh, thank you very much!
Rimuru teleported us back to Spagonia in Professor Pickle's office. Chip was sipping tea while the professor examined the document.
Me: So you could've teleported us the whole time, and you made us go through all that?
Rimuru: You'd have gotten lazy—and you love running.
Me: Fair point!
Professor Pickle (looking at the scroll): These manuscripts speak of Dark Gaia, a divine transdimensional beast that wreaks havoc on planets. Apparently, this isn't the first time the planet's been split like this.
Me and Rimuru: Really?
Chip gestured that the teapot was empty, but I ignored him.
Professor Pickle: Another important piece of information—Dark Gaia was created by END and is the 10th demonic gate.
Me (shocked): The 10th demonic gate?
Rimuru: END—the most powerful creation of Zeref, the dark mage.
Professor Pickle: Exactly. Dark Gaia is END's creation. It's supposed to spread Chaos on Mobius while END handles Earth.
Chip: What do we have to do to stop them?
Professor Pickle: There are 7 temples around the world that can restore Mobius. Sonic, you must find each temple and place an emerald. That way, they'll regain their shards and prevent Dark Gaia's awakening.
Rimuru: He's not awake yet?
Professor Pickle: Not yet. Eggman awakened him in a premature form, so he broke apart across the world, gathering strength to reform.
Me: That explains the colorful monsters at night.
Professor Pickle: Thanks to the manuscripts and Rimuru's abilities, we can locate the temples. We need to move fast—time is running out.
My tablet rang. I answered a video call and saw Wendy at the guild with the others—except Natsu and Erza.
Me: Yo, what's up?
Wendy (sad): Sonic, it's serious!
Me (worried): What's wrong? Why are you sad???
Wendy: It's... it's Laxus...
I immediately ended the call and threw a ring that transported me to Fairy Hills. I ran at full speed to the guild to rescue my master.
[Mini Story : Back to school]
No one's POV
Sonic woke up one morning, angry as soon as his alarm rang. He threw it against the wall. He got up and brushed his teeth, then angrily tossed the toothbrush. He went to his closet to get dressed and slammed the door. He grabbed a backpack and noticed something missing.
Sonic (angry): Are you kidding me? Where's my notebook?! What the hell is this?!
He started punching everything in his path. Carla, awakened by the noise, found him in the living room crying.
Carla: What's all that racket?
Sonic (wiping his tears): It's nothing.
Carla (confused): Why are you crying?!
Sonic: It's just this whole back-to-school thing—it's stressing me out!
Carla: Huh?
Sonic: I don't want to go to school today!
Carla: Sonic, you're 16 and a mage. What school? What high school?
Sonic (realizing): Wait... you're right!
Carla (facepalming): Don't tell me this is about your Fairy School dreams again—where Lucy's your sister.
Sonic: It was a beautiful dream...
She handed him a broom.
Carla: Maybe it's not back-to-school, but it's still cleaning day. Get to work!
She walked off.
Sonic: Whether it's real life or school, you're as strict as Polyussica.
Carla (from a distance): What was that?
Sonic (starting to sweep): Nothing, nothing...
