She pulled back just enough to smile, her breath fanning over his sensitive flesh. "Something wrong, Cross?" she teased, her voice dripping with wicked amusement.
His jaw clenched, his control loosing. In a swift motion, he gripped her chin, tilting her face up to meet his gaze. "You think this is a game?"
Evelyn only chuckled, running her tongue along the corner of her lips as if savoring the taste of him. "I think you need this more than you're willing to admit."
His patience snapped. In one fluid motion, Valerian pulled her up, capturing her mouth in a bruising kiss.
