Ron understood well that entities such as the Truth-Seeking Orbs or those who had reached the true Six Paths realm, like the Sage of Six Paths, Kaguya Otsutsuki, and the Ten-Tails Jinchuriki, were immune to ordinary ninjutsu. This stood in contrast to regular Otsutsuki, who, though powerful, typically preferred to absorb ninjutsu through their bloodline abilities and counterattack rather than being inherently immune to them. None of the Ōtsutsuki shown in the Boruto series had demonstrated immunity to ninjutsu in the same way the Sage of Six path-level beings had.
The only reliable methods to combat such beings were through the use of Sage Jutsu or ninjutsu infused with both Yin and Yang release. Most high-level Otsutsuki, including Obito when he had the Rinnegan, possessed a natural command over primary Yin-Yang Release. This allowed them to create chakra black rods; rods that could disrupt normal chakra entirely. These black receivers were capable of suppressing chakra and even restraining individuals as powerful as the reanimated Second Hokage. Much like Pain, who used them as chakra transmitters/receivers to extend his will and techniques through puppets, Obito and Pain had mastered their use through the Rinnegan.
Madara Uchiha, however, went a step further. Unlike Obito and Nagato Pain, Madara could manipulate Yin-Yang Release and use black rods even without activating his Rinnegan. He had internalized the principles of Yin and Yang to such a degree that he could wield these abilities instinctively on his own, similar to how he could summon and control Susano'o even without using his eyes. This demonstrated a profound mastery over Yin Release itself, one that transcended bloodline limits.
Ron had now reached the foundational level of this mastery. While he had not yet achieved the godlike ability to create life from nothing like the sage of six-paths, as true Yin-Yang Release allowed, he had successfully learned to combine Yin and Yang chakra nature in unison, marking the beginning of true balance and control over this mysterious power, but it is a long road full of possibilities, in Ron's own opinion, still a long way to reach the level of Sage of Six-Paths, but for now being able to materializing chakra black rods, allowed him to make special materials to his requirements, or even fusing real objects and chakra to create materials with seals was all he needed for now.
His father, the Third Raikage, had also integrated Yin Release into his fighting style through his signature Lightning Chakra Mode. The innate Yang Release granted by the powerful physique of the Raikage Clan, combined with mastering the ability of Life Return, allowed him to further enhance his Yang nature transformation. Though Lightning Chakra Mode initially focused more on Yin escape integration like Lightning armor, later on, it created Black Lightning.
In Ron's view, chakra was fundamentally the result of a balance between the body's physical energy, Yang, and the soul's spiritual energy, Yin. Thus, all chakra was originally a form of balanced Yin & Yang energy. To deliberately infuse a jutsu with either Yin or Yang disrupted this natural balance, altering its nature. This was precisely why most people found it difficult to add pure Yin or Yang properties to their techniques, it required a deep understanding and control to forcibly break and manipulate that balance.
At present, Ron had already mastered the Lightning Chakra Mode variant based on active Yang Release. During this period of development, the Third Raikage had further enhanced this Lightning chakra mode with Black Lightning, forming an outer aura of crackling dark lightning. Meanwhile, the core lightning aura, surrounding the body and radiating from within, remained the standard form of Lightning Chakra Mode, as it remained the most stable and efficient configuration.
Because, in the Third Raikage's opinion, he would rarely use the enhanced Black Lightning mode unless he intended to use his entire body as a spear, charging through obstacles with overwhelming force. In most cases, the standard Lightning Chakra Armor was sufficient. When it came to offensive techniques like the Hell Stab, he deliberately avoided integrating Black Lightning.
Doing so actually reduced the technique's effectiveness. Black Lightning prioritized structure and durability, whereas the Hell Stab focused on speed and concentrated destruction, channeling the super fast flow of lightning chakra mode aura like a high-frequency vibrating saw that tore through anything it touched. Adding Black Lightning made its edge sharper, but it lost the fast flow, sharpness, and destructiveness of the lightning rather than enhancing it.
For this reason, the Third Raikage favored using Black Lightning for techniques that required structure like S-rank Spirit Sword jutsu, powerful defensive ones, etc. These techniques maximized the strengths of Black Lightning, and Ron fully agreed with this philosophy, using it where needed.
