" ..., Doctor! I think she's awake. " A honey voice tone of an angel resounded in Asher's head, yet her eyes were too heavy to stay open. The word mixed into her consciousness, clouding her mind; was it the doctor she heard and would a doctor really be in her dreams. Asher's mind was very fuzzy, forcefully opening her eyes again and the entire scenery was white.
" Miss are you okay,..? " The sweet voice asked her, how much she wanted to wish that voice belonged to an angel, sent to her to make everything better again.
Wing,.. wing,.. wing! A sound rang in her ear, an awful sound taunted her consciousness. It was a mechanical sounding device, but why was it so loud, the noise rang in her head so loudly that Asher wanted it to just stop. Finally her request was granted, " can you hear? " A taut speaking voice charged at her. Feeling a hand on her yet too weak to lift a muscle, Asher's breath became rasping and feverish. Slowly falling unconscious.
....
Still inside the hospital, at a very spacious and luxurious looking ward. A slender paled faced woman laid in the huge bed, unconsciously sleeping. The patient monitoring machine in the ward was stable, showing the patient is out of harm's way.
Away from the hospital, at a high-profile building. Currently at the top floor where a dark tinted glass was installed in the place of an actual wall, causing the room to seem dark in its interior. The figure of a man in a corporate suit stood before a long office desk, his body language showed total submission he had towards the person seated behind the desk.
" Ring,.. " The man quickly picked the call, returning the silence back into the room. A call which didn't last up to a minute, and he put the phone away looking at the one seated. " The Miss is now stable. The call was meant to notify us that she would be waking up any moment now. " The man said, respectfully waiting for his boss's order. Silently still, the room remained silent. The man stood quietly waiting, eyes fixed on the man who had his gaze on the distant walls. Whereas a slow and controlled breath reigned in the room, as though someone contemplating their next move.
" Send Mock over to the hospital. When she wakes up, he should have her full compliance. " He said, the severity in his voice was strong, very demanding.
" Alright boss. " Leaving the room swiftly to carry out his request.
Now back at the hospital, Asher's eye lashes flutter. She found the brightness of her surroundings to be a surprise, the soft comfort she laid on was even baffling to herself. Slowly adjusting her gaze to the nice environment she woke into, with lots of questions mark and puzzlement in her head. Asher tried to sit-up in the bed, finding an IV syringe inserted in her hands.
" How did I end up in the hospital,.. " A weak voice left her lips, still watching her surroundings.
" Good! Miss you've awake! * A mid aged man with formal dressed black suit walked into the room, his eyes were devoid of warmth only carrying a formal business like glint. " My name is Mr Holden. You can call me Mock. " He said, his gaze was now soft a bit better than anything she had seen all through the past weeks; come to think of it, why was she here and why was this man introducing himself to her. Asher had a skeptical look on her sick ridden paled face, not understanding why she was here and now.
" How do you feel now? " The man asked, looking at the pitiful young woman his young master had gotten married to.
" I'm,.. not sure,.. " Asher felt out of place from the man's inquisitive behavior, looking straight into the man's eyes and fighting the urge not to ask him. " I'm sorry! But, have we met before? " She asked him, one hundred percent certain she had not seen this man all her life.
" Well, you're right. I know you mustn't know me, but like I said. I'm Mr Holden, the old master had sent me to check if it's true that the young master had gotten married. " The man said, smiling while he explained himself to her.
" What,.. old master. " Asher felt like he had gotten her confused for someone else, she stared at the mid aged man obviously ready to correct the mistake he was making.
" Um look, sir you've got it wrong- - " The door into the room was pushed open, and in came a young man. His eyes darted towards the young woman in the bed and the man standing beside her.
" Secretary Mock. " The young man kowtowed to him, paying his respects to the mid aged man in the room before looking at the woman. " Mrs Mason. " He greeted, respectfully addressing the confused woman.
" Mrs Mason,.. " Asher whispered beneath her breath, now she was perplexed at the both men standing before her.
" Oh- seems like the young master couldn't stay away from his wife for long. " Mock said, a smile wounds its way to his cheek genuinely happy the young master had finally settled down.
" Well, he was worried about the Mrs, that's why he sent me here to keep her company till he arrives! " The young man said, still smiling himself.
" That's good- very good! I will have it reported to the old man as soon as I get back. " The mid aged man said.
Though there was a bit of abnormality in the setting which triggered his suspicion, looking at the dumbfounded young woman who sat in the bed trying to fathom what was happening in the room.
" What did the doctor say, regarding the young Miss illness? " Mock asked, only getting the news that the young master had gotten married and his wife fell ill immediately afterwards.
" Oh! It was nothing really serious. The young Miss happens to get caught in the rain, returning back to the mansion. She was headstrong about not using the young master's car! That's why. " The young said, spouting a lie yet very composed as someone stating a fact.
Listening to him, Asher had to ask herself all over again if she was still dreaming or she had woken up in someone else's body.
" Oh I see. The young Miss is as stubborn as the young master. " Mock snickered, finding the young woman to be very much fitted for his young master.
" How is she now? " Mock asked, concerned about her general health challenges.
" She's fine now. Just a minor high fever. " The young man said, as if it wasn't anything serious.
