Ryker's POV
One minute I was in the cave with Kira, about to be attacked by a creature, and the next I was somewhere else—no Kira, no creature, no single sign of any living organism. Just total darkness.
Where am I?
What is this place?
Questions began to throb in my head as I turned to look around, hoping to see if Kira was somewhere in the shadows, but there was no sign of her. Just me.
Darkness enveloped the area. It wasn't just the absence of light, but a suffocating blackness that seemed to press heavily on my skin like a second layer, heavier and more oppressive.
Suddenly, I couldn't move. I couldn't breathe.
What could be happening?
I tried to speak but couldn't. I couldn't even twitch my fingers or any part of my body. It was like I was kept in a deep freezer. My thoughts were foggy, disordered, and scattered like leaves fallen from trees during a strong storm.
