Chapter 67 - Chapter 67 - New hammer and rings.

The hammer was very similar to a regular one, but it was heavier and seemed more durable. It had no decorations or engravings on the handle like the one I received after killing the boss on the fifth floor.

If I didn't have the system, I would have thrown this hammer away.

Because despite its ordinary appearance, this hammer is far from ordinary!

It has four very useful effects.

The first one is:

[Reduces the effort required for each strike.]

In other words, it helps me avoid getting tired too quickly. "Well, I don't get tired easily anyway—I have plenty of stamina. But this first effect isn't what matters. The next two are the real deal!"

[Increases the chances of forging a Legendary item by 5%.]

At rank G, I have a 1% chance of forging a Legendary item. But with this hammer, my chances rise to 6%! I'm definitely going to forge many Legendary items from now on!

And now, the third effect, which in my opinion, is the best. The fourth effect is also great, but this one is incredible!

[Increases Excelia gain by 40%]

"Yes! This effect boosts the Excelia I gain while forging! Now I understand why the system gave me that new skill! This is amazing!"

I might be able to level up my Falna faster through forging than by exploring the dungeon. Incredible.

"And now, the next effect… It's the second-best one."

[Increases points gain by 30%]

Yes, I'll earn more points while forging from now on.

"This hammer is amazing. I feel like crying just looking at its stats."

I placed the hammer on the table and then checked the other items the system had given me. There were three more items besides the hammer. And fortunately, they were items that could improve my status!

Yes, items that could boost my stats.

I received three rings.

"Two of them are good, but this one… not so much." The only useless ring increases my strength by just 1 point.

Meaning, I currently have 35 strength, and if I wear this ring, I'll have 36. "I guess if Hephaestus updates my Falna while I'm wearing it, my falna won't change, right?"

Since it's not a permanent increase, I'd lose that 1 strength point if I took the ring off.

"As for the other rings… Just the fact that their effects are percentage-based makes them way better than the previous one."

Unfortunately, each ring only has one effect. If they had multiple bonuses like the hammer I just got, that would be incredible. "It's just like in New World. Items that boost stats by a percentage are far more valuable."

This first ring increases my strength by 20%. That's insane!

"A 20% boost is on another level. In New World, this would be considered a max-rank item, but the system classifies this ring as 'Refined Rank.'"

I put on the ring that increases strength by 1 point, as well as the one that boosts my strength by 20%.

I couldn't see my exact strength stat, but if I had to guess… I must be close to 45 strength now, right? I can feel the difference. "It's like my muscles suddenly got bigger. I feel more energized, too. Alright, now for the other ring."

This one also provides a percentage-based increase.

Unfortunately, it's not a stat boost.

[Increases point gain by 20%.]

Yes, another item that enhances points gain.

"If I combine this ring with my new hammer, my points gain will increase by 50%!"

However, that 50% boost only applies while I'm forging. When I'm not, it'll just be 20% since I'll still be wearing the ring. "But what if this 20% bonus the ring provides only works while I'm forging something?"

It would be great if it also applied when gathering ores in the dungeon or completing quests.

"I'll have to test it later."

I slipped the third ring onto my finger. All three rings were now on my right hand. I raised my hand and examined it. Each ring was made of silver, with a different colored gemstone.

The one that added just 1 strength point had a diamond-like gemstone—transparent and unremarkable.

The other rings, however, were brightly colored and eye-catching.

"I'm sure if I sold this ring that increases strength by 20% to a Level 4 or higher adventurer, I'd make a fortune. A 20% boost in strength for someone already powerful is absurd."

But of course, I have no intention of handing out these overpowered system-gifted items to just anyone.

####

After analyzing all the items, I decided to forge something using my new hammer and rings. I took some mithril from my inventory and set it to heat up.

Once the mithril was hot enough, I placed it on the anvil and grabbed my newly acquired hammer.

"Let's do this!" I shouted, excited about my new hammer, and began striking the mithril to shape it into a beautiful sword.

CLANG!

CLANG!

CLANG!

Sparks flew with each strike, igniting a fire in my chest.

I wasn't putting in any effort at all.

And after just a few strikes, the system sent me a notification saying I had gained points.

With each notification, my excitement grew.

When I finished hammering, I placed the blade into an oil-filled basin. The sizzling sound filled my ears.

At the same time, a new system notification popped up.
