Chapter 57 - 57.Echoes of the dead

The sky erupted in a brilliant flash of white as Sam raised the wand high above him. But before he could fully harness its power, Vall-eran's voice bellowed from the shadows, seething with rage.

"How dare you betray me?" His voice echoed like thunder, shaking the very foundation of the world.

In an instant, the sky darkened. A suffocating blackness spread like ink, suffusing the air with an oppressive weight. From the depths of this darkness, more monstrous creatures and massive giants emerged, tearing apart the land and sky with savage abandon. The city around them burned, its buildings crumbling to ash in the wake of the storm.

Sam was lost in the dark aura emanating from the wand. His senses were overwhelmed as a colossal creature appeared in the sky, its roar shaking the earth and destroying everything in its path. The wand slipped from Sam's grip, falling to the ground as he collapsed, his body battered by the force of the surrounding destruction.

Sam was in huge pain as he was covered inn the pain. However, he spoke," it seems that you have forgot that I am an architect here."

The dark aura grew darker around him as he grew in pain. He spoke in a cold voice," I can never withstand my creation falling infront of eyes when I tried my entire life for that moment."

Yon rushed to his side, his face filled with desperation and concern. "Isn't there any way to destroy him?" he asked, his voice thick with urgency.

Sam's voice was barely a whisper, as though the dark aura had drained him of his strength. "The wand has two masters," he said, his words strained.

He was trying to gather his strength at the strangle of death as his eyes locked the dark gaze of Sambh which drained everything from him leaving him in emptiness. This time he was aware of it that there was nothing that he can do at that moment.

"It can't choose its true master." He struggled to rise, his eyes meeting Yon's. "There's a train passage here. It's the only way to save the people. They'll be safe there."

Yon's gaze hardened with resolve. "We're not leaving you behind, Sam," he declared, his sword raised high.

His voice full of courage and eyes with full of hatred towards the darrk aura. He spoke," you have killed thousands of people and we are determined to kill you now." He continued," I will fight you to death." He looked back.

"We will fight him together."

Sam shook his head, the weight of his knowledge pressing down on him. "We can't win against him," he said, his voice steady but filled with sorrow.

"Vall-eran is the first prince of the Divine Land. He was killed by a time traveler there, and when he died, his wand vanished into the darkness. It was reawakened by me."

He paused, his face a mask of regret. "The wand has two sides: the dark side and the light side. The dark side chose Vall-eran as its master, and the light side chose me. But the dark side corrupted me, drove me to revive him with the Mirror of Fate. Vall-eran can only be killed once the Mirror of Fate is destroyed."

Before Yon could respond, a blinding light suddenly illuminated the sky. The light came from three ancient dragons, their golden radiance piercing through the darkness, pushing back the black aura. Yon's eyes widened in awe as he looked up.

"Is he from the Divine Land?" he asked, his voice filled with disbelief.

Sam shook his head, his gaze fixed on the dragons. "No," he answered softly.

"He is Sage Sandh."

"Sage Sandh?" Yon echoed, his confusion deepening. "He revived?"

Sam nodded. "He was lost for so long, but now he's here. He's come to help us."

Jigartala, who had been silently observing the battle from a distance, suddenly spoke up. "This is the perfect opportunity," he said, his voice cutting through the chaos.

"We can kill Vall-eran now. The Mirror of Fate is within our grasp."

The battle raged on as the Devourer, Vall-eran's monstrous pet, fought fiercely against the three dragons.

The dragons, powerful and majestic, stood their ground as the golden light from Sage Sandh's wand bathed the battlefield in a radiant glow. Despite their strength, the Devourer's dark force was overwhelming, pushing the dragons back with every strike.

Vall-eran, determined to finish what he had started, moved toward Sage Sandh, his dark aura swirling like a storm.

He raised his weapon, preparing to strike, but before he could land the fatal blow, Sam, driven by desperation and fury, pierced Vall-eran's chest from behind. The force of his strike shattered the Mirror of Fate, the key to Vall-eran's return.

The sky darkened even further as the Devourer, now fully awakened, surged with dark energy. The pressure in the air intensified, and the three dragons, despite their power, were struck down by the immense force emanating from the creature. The ground beneath them trembled as the balance of the world shifted once again.

Sam staggered, his body wracked with pain from the toll the battle had taken. He had destroyed the Mirror of Fate, but the cost was steep. Vall-eran's body writhed in agony, his dark form twisted by the sudden loss of his resurrection power.

But even as the darkness threatened to consume everything, Sam knew that the battle was far from over. The destruction had only just begun.

Vall-eran, though weakened, was not defeated. His dark aura still pulsed with unholy power. He rose slowly, his eyes burning with rage.

"You may have destroyed the Mirror of Fate, but you cannot destroy me so easily," he hissed, his voice filled with venom.

Sam, though exhausted, stood his ground. "You will never rule this world," he said, his voice filled with defiance. "Not while I still breathe."

As Vall-eran advanced, the three dragons, though broken and battered, slowly began to rise once more. Their golden light flickered like a dying star, but they were not finished yet. Sage Sandh stood tall, his wand raised high, ready to lend his power to the final confrontation.
